Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomI always hate paying for any service before first sampling it. Found the third floor rather spartan, and univiting, the bedroom whilst ok showed signs of a lack of attention eg the table looked rather shabby, with flaking paint cracks, the bathroom did not have a dressing gown hook, there appeared to be a broken one on door which didn't work, there was a terrible area of mould to the side of shower and there were no seals to either side of shower door which was very poor. Car parking is a big problem in this part of town especially when there are conferences/exhibitions occuring. The most annoying practice of leaving guests to order and prepay at the bar (Drinks and especially for dinner) is really poor. I had a party of nine for dinner, found no one available behind bar, at first, to order food and drinks and later for sweets.
Quite a large area but as we had learnt from experience, its wise to arrive early for breakfast. There was plenty of choice, some of the hot items could have been a little more freshly cooked, (Bacon, eggs) but were still quite edible. The orange juice was really delicious. The staff, when availble were first class, very friendly and helpful. The public areas were very pleasant.

United KingdomOnly one teabag each in room. Extraction fan was noisy and needed replacing in bathroom. Breakfast choice was good but there was no muesli - I think they had run out and not refilled it.
Main eating area downstairs had been restored to 1920’ style so we expected to bump into Agatha Christie.

United KingdomThere was no heating in the bathroom and no instructions on how to use the heated towel rail. We were not keen on dogs in the hotel and may not have used this hotel had I noticed this fact before booking.
In the right place for centre of town AND car parking on site. Excellent Italian Restaurant next door. Good breakfasts.

United KingdomMy only problem was the breakfast. Over cooked hard black pudding bacon and hash browns. Sorry but this was a big letdown.
Great for the city centre train station etc. I went to the theatre about 100 yards away.

United KingdomSelf check in, although acceptable, unexpected for a premium hotel option. Hot breakfast served with cold plates, causing food to go cold quickly. Breakfast times too short - ending 9:30am on a Sunday. Causing a rush of guests around 9am and resulting in lack of tables, glasses and cups with some food options being unavailable and not being replenished before closing. Staff unclear on details of how to action the room clean/free drink swap, so unable to use.
Central location, staff friendly and helpful, room clean and tidy. Hotel generally very well presented. Breakfast tasty. Option of free drink in the bar if skipping a room clean.

United KingdomRoom was very clean but looking a little tired - a bit of carpet near one wall of the bedroom was missing, there were some visible fixings where something next to the wardrobe had been removed and not painted over, the hook had broken off the bathroom door, and the towels have washed very thin. Corridor walls have patches where pictures have been removed. Only one chair in a double room. Not enough tea and coffee in the room (if you take them up on the free bar drink for not having your room valeted then you don't get tea/coffee/biscuits replenished). The lift is very small - only holds 2 people and is very awkward if you have both luggage and parcels with you, as we did. Despite all these minor niggles the hotel is great - just not quite as nice as our previous stay about 3 years ago.
The hotel is in a great location, close to the town centre and directly opposite the entrance to the Royal Hall and Convention Centre. A very comfortable standard double bed, with lots of pillows. Efficient shower, in a large cubicle. Our room was very quiet at night, no street noise or anything from other guests. Lots of plug sockets and charge points for phones etc. We had a small double room which was enough for the amount of time we were going to spend indoors, but there are also larger doubles available (some of them on the ground floor if required). Free WiFi, and although we didn't use the TV, it was large and well placed. Tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms. Plenty of selection at breakfast - the hot and continental breakfast buffet with hot and cold drinks was included in our room price, and and you could go back for topups on everything if you wanted - and you can also order other items. Free drink in the large and well-appointed downstairs bar if you don't have your room valeted. Appropriate lighting in all areas, and pleasant, relaxing decor throughout. In house restaurant was available if we'd chosen to eat there.

United KingdomWe stayed in August 2023. However, on this stay the rooms appear to be a little tired already. The pillows were hard, the mattress was very uncomfortable, and only one bed light was working. The breakfast was a disaster, most of the food gone and was told to take away to my table and eat what I had got then come back to the buffet to get the rest of the cooked breakfast..
The bar area was great, and the hotel is in fab location for restaurants and bars.
