Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Bathroom door cannot be closed properly, can be a bit noisy when there’re events downstairs

The hotel is clean. The room was very spacious and had everything that we needed. The beds were comfortable. The location was good and was perfect for our visit.

It was central and easy to find. The room was clean and well laid out. It was quiet at night despite the noise from the music in the adjoining bar. Great range of teas on offer in the room.

Excellent location. Plenty to see and do around about. Local pubs and restaurants and attractions within easy walking distance. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and tidy and comfortable.

Water in the show was cold :-(
Very nice rooms, clean and warm, great comfy beds and beautiful bathroom. It also had one of the biggest and best quality TV's. Would stay again.

It was very noisy when our neighbours came home in one of the nights, so the sound isolation is not the best there. It was very loud.
The room is big, well equipped, nice and clean. The bathroom was really nice with an amazing shower. The location is really good. I would recommend it and stay there again. Great value for money.

The staffing levels are shocking. This morning (28/03/24) myself, friend and my daughter opted for the breakfast buffet... and lemme tell you that was a mistake. From the get go, incredibly lack luster selection of fruit, few bits of cheese and cold cuts, the toaster? Pls don't even get me started. There was only ONE staff member tending to reception & breakfast at the same time. I felt nothing but sorry for the poor girl, at one point I just felt like I was harassing her, cause who.else was there for me to ask? Fair few people down for breakfast, and I was yet to see a single person served their food. Orders were taken, and we waited over an hour before we gave up and just cancelled breakfast. So we checked out rather hungry. Again, not the girls fault, she shouldn't have to deal with all that on her own!
The rooms themselves are spacious, and clean. Tunnocks is always a nice addition. Glass frosted doors for the bathrooms though? Noooope. The lift is lower than me, so always take the stairs. Reception is an absolute sauna???? We always struggled to find the door to the hotel, but I'm.kinda a bit dim. Overall, would stay here again and completely avoid breakfast and book in elsewhere.

Very little.
It was comfortable and light, the amenities were great, the breakfast fit for kings (albeit of Scots). Definitely great value for money.

Since there is a bar right next door there was often loud music until 3 in the morning. It was not very loud in the room, but one can still hear it.
The staff are very friendly and always available to help and answer questions. Breakfast was also good, but it lacked some basics, such as yogurt and fruits. The room was a bit small (S size) but comfortable for 2 people.

I just want to get room shoes. We needed to bring our slippers.
Really clean and good location:) We ordered 1room w/ 2 beds, but luckily we got the room for 4 persons! so it was huge and open room!

No staff around at the breakfast area to order anything out with the buffet.

Music at the adjacent pub played until 1am. Very loud. You could totally hear every word and made it impossible to sleep

The view from the window was where all the garbage bins are kept. So many to find a way to change this view with may be to place some decorating films on the window glass to reduce the eyesoar
We asked for a quiet room and we were given one. The heating in the room was good.

Hallway leading to dorm wasn't the cleanest. It's connected to a large bar area and smelled badly of urine
I'm not 100% sure why but we were changed from a twin room to a dormitory for 12 people being assured we would be the only occupants. It was huge, clean, we had 2 ensuites, tv, dart board and fridge. Would be fantastic for a group
