Friendly staff and a great breakfast. They were very helpful in changing us to a new room when we found a broken bed in one of the outside rooms. The new new room inside the actual hotel was wonderful. The best nights sleep in years.

There was no room service so tea/coffee making provisions were not topped up and bins were not emptied. Also the bed was a little bit uncomfortable, there were no chairs so nothing to sit on apart from the bed and the bathroom floor was a pebble effect which was painful to walk on with bare feet.

Lovely quiet location, free on site parking, very convenient for us with our dog and the pub was cosy and welcoming.

No evening meal was available, as there was no chef at the time of our stay and they were short-staffed. We walked to the nearest other pub in the village, however, which had an excellent menu. There was audible noise from the bar in the evening - our room was over the bar which might have upset some guests, just saying although it ultimately didn't disturb our sleep.

Friendly welcome and dog friendly. Good size room, clean and warm. The bed was comfy. Breakfast nicely cooked and good quality food. Nice large mugs for refreshments in the room which is always good!

I had a great English breakfast. The restaurant is cosy and comfortable. Opening time is between 7:45 and 8 so this might be a little late for some business people. I was delayed arriving until after the kitchen closed. One of the staff called me to explain I would miss the chef but they could prepare something for when I arrived.

the mattress on the bed was a little uncomfortable due to being not very deep and there were a couple of loose fixtures in the bathroom and the emercency light in the room was a little annoying having the green light on it lighting up the room all night but thses are all minor faults which can be sorted very easy

the room itself was lovely and quite and the staff and the food in the restaurant was excellent, the morning breakfast was also excellant and was a nice start to the day.

We got locked out 1 evening as member of staff left early, we had to call the manager to let us in, it wasn't late around 9.30pm. The beds were uncomfortable this time, lumpy and my back hurt after the break

There is a new chef at The Anchor. We enjoyed a delicious meal on our first night there. We would have eaten there the second night of our stay but had already booked somewhere else. The chef is a great asset to The Anchor.
