Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe rooms are in need of some TLC. The decoration is patchy, the carpets are a bit worn out in places.
Breakfast was excellent, location at heart of the town withe parking was perfect. It is a beautiful old building.

United Arab EmiratesThe room was clean and a good size, but a bit tired, and the place was sometimes noisy. Communication was a bit frustrating - I had about 10-15 e-mails between booking and arrival but nobody answered the phone when I called (to try to get into the car park).
The location was pretty good, and the parking was useful. We were pleasantly surprised by the good view from the room - over the high street to the Solent.

United KingdomRoom in a poor state. Attempts at plaster repair but no attempt to do it well or paint over. Plaster cracking in many places. The room was small and there was no shower. Just a hose over the bath with no curtain or screen. My 6”2 boyfriend couldn’t stand up in the bath because of sloping ceilings. There were salt crystals leaching out of the plaster in the bathroom sloping ceiling. In bad repair throughout. There also was an adjoining door to the next room so noise traveled very easily from neighbouring room. Lack of privacy.

United KingdomBefore arriving at the carpark, check with the hotel that the code they provide on the email is correct. Our code didnt work, luckily a shopkeeper who was leaving the carpark gave us the correct code. Bear in mind that this is a pub, it can get quite noisy on a late evening.
Nice central location, near to shops and restaurants. Had its own free to use carpark. Room spacious and clean.

United KingdomThe shower looked great but was very hard to operate properly. Our key operated all the doors but we only discovered this on our departure. Being elderly, we were surprised to be on the 3rd floor up a narrow staircase. A member of staff helped take up our cases which was really kind but best to know in advance really.
The location was very central, near the shops and the quay. It was really great to have designated car parking nearby. The staff were all very helpful and pleasant and we were allowed into our room early as it was ready. The room was quirky, stylish and spacious and so was the bathroom. It was also comfortable with 2 chairs, one being a very comfortable leather armchair. The white fluffy towels and white cotton bedding was great. The hotel/pub itself was very historic and thus had a quirky layout and a special atmosphere.

United KingdomThe lighting fitments in our room didn't all work but the one that mattered was corrected very quickly and efficiently, and the mattress was too hard for our liking.
The management was impressive throughout our stay and the "continental" breakfast was better than any i can remember on the continent!
