Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Very nice stay. Great location for Bath Town just a few minutes walk. Lovely gardens & people. Very accommodating. Had a lovely room facing the garden. Quiet & peaceful and a lovely snug/bar for pre dinner drinks. I would recommend breakfast. We will return.

United KingdomLots of stairs could be a problem for some and staff didn’t indicate a lift but offered to carry bags. Nice shower but the splash panel wasn’t fitted properly so water ended up on the floor which I reported before leaving. If we were staying longer I would have requested a room change. Parking was tight.
Within walking distance of Bath. It was clean and comfy . It was a graceful building with pleasant views at the back and in better weather the garden to the rear looked lovely. Staff were welcoming and friendly.

United KingdomThe room was very warm but we were able to open windows.
Excellent location and a lovely room. We stayed in the Tulip room as a twin - it was very comfortable and spacious. Our trip was to visit Bath University and The Arlington was perfectly located for us to get the U1 bus up the hill. We were able to park our car in the hotel car park for the duration of our stay. Staff were very helpful on check in and when giving directions to the bus stop etc

United KingdomCobwebs in bathroom and dusty bedside tables and small piece of mould on bath tile. Take note that is NOT a 5* hotel, but a 5* guesthouse.
We really liked the bathroom, especially the lighting. The view from the window was very nice. Well decorated room. Location was a 10min walk from the canal. Spacious room with a book full of recommendations of surrounding restaurants and activities.

United KingdomI had asked for decaffeinated drinks in room but no decaffeinated tea provided. I didn't really think we should be charged per night for parking car.

CanadaMy stay would have been perfect except for being able to hear every noise out of my window. There is a loud pub down the street. At 11pm after the pub closed a few people were talking outside my window (I was one floor up from the street) for quite some time. I could hear footsteps, and all the talking. I suggest new windows that seal well. I wore earplugs but they couldn’t shut the noise out.
This property is gorgeous. The inside is beautifully decorated- very thoughtful Darwin theme. It also has a beautiful back garden.

United KingdomNoticed some tiny dust buildup on bed posts and frame but that's just be being really picky because overall the property was gorgeous and very clean. The only fault that is extremely minor, there is nothing else that I can complain about, it was very impressive!
The room was beautiful and had everything you needed. The breakfast was delicious, exceeded my expectations and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Location and view onto the gardens was stunning, overall very pleased.

United KingdomYou have to pay for parking on their grounds which I feel let’s the venue down slightly as feels a bit of sly cash grab from them. Other venues probably do it I imagine though so they are just following suit. Shame though.
Room was absolutely stunning and the staff were super friendly. Great location too.

BelgiumIn our opinion, the room deserves a small refreshment: although it was clean, there were some small "downgrades", like a degrading skirting board, a loose plug, corners of wallpaper coming off, and curtains not so fresh anymore. One the one hand, it has its charm given the classical building, but on the other hand, some modernization is perhaps in order to restore the building in its original glory.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast has a good value for money ratio. It was the ideal location for us: between the charming city of Bath and the university campus.
