Lovely quiet accommodation, great location and facilities. Nicely decorated and had everything we needed for 2 nights. Friendly owners and happy for us to use the wider garden for our dog who enjoyed a nose around! During our stay we visited Flatford Mill, Walton-on-the Naze and Frinton on Sea

There was nothing not to like.

We loved the peace & quiet, great location to visit Flatford, Dedham & lots of beautiful old villages. Jimmy is very quick to respond to any messages, he gave us good tips on where to eat. There was complementary tea, coffee, milk & even some fruit. Some garden flowers were left on the kitchen table, a real homely touch. The garden area was a pleasure to sit in. Loved the bird theme within the cottage. We had a very pleasant stay & thoroughly recommend a stay at the Bird House.

We were fortunate to have very warm weather but the only minor challenge with this was the temperature on the building due to its fantastic insulation and sun facing windows. We found the fan provided was useful!

A wonderful location with a very welcoming host - thanks Jimmy! The setting is very peaceful and has great access to Dedham. We had everything we need needed and really enjoyed our stay! Great for our dog too!

Parking outside property useful but reversing onto road had to be done carefully.

Great little self contained unit next to house. Small gated garden led to a larger garden which we could use to exercise our dog.. Fruit and milk kindly supplied and appreciated.

Jimmy's place is beautiful, small and cozy just for couples. The kitchen is well equipped for a short stay, our Jack Russell Tony loved the garden, lots of space to play. We will definitely come back!

In all honesty there was nothing to not like.

The accommodation was beautiful, comfortable and very well appointed. The price we paid belies the quality of the lodge. It is a very very nice place to stay.

Private lodge in grounds of owner’s property with a lovely view down the long garden which is full of interesting trees and plants. Your own patio which is not overlooked. Comfortable bed and well equipped. We really enjoyed our stay.

Was very cosy and homey. The hosts even decorated it for christmas which was a bonus. Very spacious and had everything you needed for a weekend away. Will absolutely be returning in the summer. Thanks again!

A non-slip shower mat for the bathroom would be good - the floor in the walk-in shower is not entirely level and obviously gets slippery when wet. The non-stick frying pan for the stove could do with updating.

A lovely quiet location. A very spacious property for two guests - we have stayed in many that are smaller. Lots of amenities, we much appreciated the fresh milk in the fridge and the instructions folder. Also the access to the adjoining garden.

Be aware this is around 2 miles outside of Dedham on a main road.

Nice self-contained holiday let, all facilities one would expect are provided, very comfortable and homely. Good base to visit the local area from. We had a very nice week here.

The place is perfect for exploring the local area. The village of Dedham is a short drive or walk and has some lovely pubs and cafes. The hosts were so helpful and had lots of good tips for what to do. It was a very peaceful and comfortable place to stay.
