Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomMore variety at breakfast. Majority of dishes on offer were egg based. As a non egg eater, had to eat breakfast at local cafes etc.

IsraelA coat hanger near tthe door would come handy!
We loved the place: the staff is friendly and helpful, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was well stocked and pamepring. We really appreciated the bottles of milk for the coffee - such an upgrade! Many wrote here before me about the location, and it is indeed fantastic: so central and yet in a quiet alley, no noise from the street, plenty of restaurants around, easy access to transportation... Perfect!

SpainThe location is excellent! You're in the middle of the city walking distance to Convent Garden, Picadilly, Regent Street etc. But the hotel itself is quiet and cozy. Speaking of cozy I did book the cozy room for myself which was absolutely fab. And I guess for London standards it was quite big. Would be a bit too cozy for my taste to share with someone. The breakfast was delicious and the staff very kind, friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay again!

United KingdomThe breakfast service was not good at all. The table we were shown to was not fully laid and we were left waiting a long time before being asked for our order. The eggs and toast were very overcooked and the bacon undercooked and very fatty.
The location and the comfort.

I’ve stayed here several times and love the hotel and especially the staff. Comfortable and spacious rooms, a variety of eating spots (breakfast room, outdoor dining at Mrs. Dalloway, the stunning bar The Coral Room, and the cozy basement bar which features live music), the kindest staff imaginable and the central location. Two minutes from Tottenham Court tube station and Oxford Street. Ten minutes from Covent Garden and the West End. Rooms are stocked with kettle, nespresso coffee machine, a selection of coffee and teas, and a mini bar. Also, there are bathrobes and slippers.

United States of AmericaThe Bloomsbury Hotel emphasized great service and style. The room was clean and nice. The Coral Room, Dalloway Terrace, the jazz bar downstairs, and the lovely green sitting room were all quite lovely. The art and ambiance are quite special. The location is in walking distance to quite a bit. The hotel food is very good. The staff were exceptionally friendly, always offering assistance.

United KingdomNo complaints at all
Location was great for what we wanted - short walk from theatre land and 2 mins from nearest tube station. We didn't eat there but that's a personal choice we always prefer to go out for dinner and breakfast. The staff were excellent from the moment we arrived until we left. Always on hand and very friendly and accommodating.

United KingdomThe inconsistency niggles. We booked a deluxe double only to be told there technically is no deluxe double. Only king or queen. The room was tiny. Really only suitable for single occupancy in terms of room to get dressed, sit and eat etc. the last time this happened we were upgraded for free. This time we were upgraded ( although arguably “upgrade” is incorrect as we were just given the room we originally expected and have had when booking the same standard of room in the past) and my understanding from the final bill is this was more expensive. Which is absolutely fine. I would ultimately rather have a nice room. But this price difference was not explicitly outlined to us when we moved rooms. I’m sure for some guests this would make quite a difference and should probably be discussed. Also on our last visit the taps were plumbed incorrectly- scalding hot water from the cold tap. I made the hotel aware of this and they said on our next visit we would be given 2 complimentary cocktails. We were not. We were given 2 vouchers for sparkling wine because of the room mix up. But neither of us drink wine and so we didn’t use them. We had delicious cocktails in The Coral Room as planned anyway, and it’s not a huge thing so I didn’t want to mention it as I’d already complained about the room! But it’s just the instances of inconsistency. Ultimately I just wish that the rooms shown on booking.com reliably showed the standard and size of room. As over the years booking a “deluxe double” has provided varying standards of actual room. Which is frustrating. Maybe this is a booking.com issue. Overall though despite this looong ramble…. The staff are just wonderful and helpful and treat guests as though they are the most special things to walk through the door! Which everyone loves to feel! Food and cocktails are superb. It really is our favourite London hotel.
We love this hotel for its location, decor, friendly staff. We will continue to visit this hotel despite having family we can stay with in London.
