    Menu was expensive.

Nice welcome, easy check in and out. Food needs attention. The crispy beef dish was bland. We had to leave early and we could order a packed lunch as an alternative to having breakfast.

The menu is a bit expensive but the food is good.

I had to leave early so the hotel arranged a packed lunch for me to take away. Every detail of the hotel is quality.

Property was great value for money. Inside bar/restaurant areas are really lovely, perfect place to unwind. Both breakfast and evening meal were tasty and plenty of choice of drinks. Biggest asset are the staff. Really friendly and accommodating. Managed to book a table of six for dinner ahead of our stay, in the morning a table of six for breakfast was already there waiting. A welcome change from the more crowded areas of the Lake District, and the hotel has ample parking. We went for a hike around Burnmoor tarn, setting off from Dalegarth railway only ten minutes away from the Bridge Inn and had a lovely day. Plenty choice of other walks near. Would not hesitate to stay again, thank you very much for having us!

Only thing that wasn't perfect was window was starting to wear and I didn't really feel confident opening it. There are a lot of creaky floor boards but it's a very old building and this is normal

Lovely place to stay. Very cosy fabulous breakfast and I dined in the restaurant with 14 friends and everyone was praising the quality of the food. Beautiful locatio and confy room. I would definitely stay again.

Nothing really, a lovely restful place.

The pub part is wonderful having been recently refurbished to a high standard. Breakfast and evening meals were excellent. The room and bed were comfortable and all areas were exceptionally clean. There was a good selection of local ales and whiskies. The staff were lovely, really warm and welcoming. Will be back soon with my wife and dog. Very good value for money compared to local competitors, I have stayed at a couple of them. Handy for Wasdale and Eskdale.

We had a fantastic stay! After hiking the whole day this is just the place you want to crush for the night! The room was very clean and lovely! The river view was so worth it, we woke up to a beautiful sunrise! The food served was very good, I highly recommend the stake pie - so good! My dogs had a great time also! Thanks guys.

No control over heating in the room, was cold during the day and woke up to lots of condensation on the inside of the windows. 2 bar staff were rather curt and unfriendly ( maybe they were over stretched due to being really busy on a Friday and Saturday night?!)

Lovely king size bed in a spacious room, nice large walk in shower. Very dog friendly, with newly refurbed bar/restaurant area, amazing member of staff called Cate! Accommodating in customising my food which was a mix from dishes on the menu.

Quirky room in a true country setting

    The weather (haha)

This unique Inn is set in the tranquill village of Stanton Bridge. If you are looking for a remote country feel...this is your place to go. The Inn is just a stones throw from Scafell Pike, Wast Water ( England's deepest lake ) and St Olaf's Church ( the smallest church ). Food was excellant and a decent range of drinks. There is also a cosy small open hearth in the bar. The room we had was to the front of the building ... the room itself was quirky as it had a slope, comfy bed and orginal style wooden windows :)

Only thing (which is nothing to do with the inn itself) is the route the sat nav can take you to get there as a warning if you are coming from windermere way be very careful the sat nav does not take you wrynose hardknot pass way as it is a terrifying white knuckle ride all the way there. And once you are on it there is no turning back best to Google hardknot pass if you are thinking about attempting to go that way as really wish we had had this warning

All the Staff there were exceptional very friendly and helpful. Reception, cleaning, bar and cooks all helped in someway during our stay I.e slept through breakfast but still offered toast cereal and coffee was helped with directions home etc Food was lovely and big portions too. Rooms very clean and comfortable nice relaxed vibe . Very dog friendly
