Comfortable and great value. Excellent breakfast, in fact all the food was very good. A good location to explore the Dales.

Half hour slot for breakfast service could be tight - little option for a late start.

Breakfast was excellent with great choice for both vegetarian and meat eater. Very friendly busy pub in the evening but quiet and peaceful in the rooms, giving a great night's sleep.

A bustling village pub with friendly, helpful staff. The breakfast was lovely. Our dog enjoyed her own sausage and dog biscuit. We ordered a meal the evening of our stay, which saved going out to look for somewhere.

Problems with cooking (no gas) and on final night no water. Not fault of management as they were clearly in the throws or repairs etc. They responded by moving me to a different location for my final night, which was the best they could do in the circumstances.

Lovely olde world pub with lots of character. Pleasant and comfortable room ensuite

The floor in the room wasn't that clean, the shower head dripped, and only 2 out of 5 ale pumps were on which was unfortunate.

Some of the food was very good, but some was rather ordinary (the main courses we had), bland and perhaps not prepared as carefully as it should have been, which was a shame. I know the new owners have a lot on their hands but I would suggest food should be at the top of the list.

Lovely location and old building. Atmospheric bar area. Great staff- helpful and friendly. Staff looking for advice as to making improvements to their offering. I am sure they will get there and we look forward to staying again. Good breakfast and thrilled to see Shreddies on offer!

A little tired, hand rail in bath for the shower would help.

Great location, room access challenging for disabled person. Room fine for us but as family room may be difficult for parents with small children as it was situated over the bar which was, at times, noisy.

The location the property the owners the staff and the locals were all fantastic friendly an very welcoming . The pub is exactly what you would expect from a 16th century inn (gorgous) the area is srunningly beautiful with walks on the doorstep an the breakfast was out of this world as were the evening meals ! Our room was spotlessly clean warm an cisy with lovely views . Oh an the beers an wines went down well too 🤣

Although very clean, we felt our bathroom could do with a bit of updating. Didn't spoil our stay though.

Characterful pub with lovely open fire. Sits in beautiful surroundings a mile walk from Reeth so great distance for us for walking/exercising our dog. Our room overlooked the beautiful church. Food was exceptional and some mainstream beers/Guinness as well as local beers so a big tick from us. Ate there in the evening and choice was good. The inclusive breakfast was also lovely and set us up for the day ahead. Would definitely recommend and would stay again for sure.

This is an old building so difficult to soundproof - Room 5 is right above the bar - our stay was a Friday night, the bar was busy and therefore very noisy right up to closing time to the point where the noise was intrusive.

    Food excellent. Friendly staff.
