Only a small thing - the pillows were very firm. Personal preference is a softer pillow. Maybe one firm and one softer would be a good idea. Nothing else.

Perfect location for the theatre in Aylesbury and Waddesdon Manor. The room was beautifully decorated, with good quality bedding, and supplied with everything you needed. Toiletries of good quality, bathroom and shower excellent, loved having a fridge with fresh milk. Our room was very quiet. Little noise from a very busy road. Staff were very approachable and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Lovely stay.

    Nothing

This hotel was an unexpected joy. Extremely well situated for my work at the Crown Court it sits next door to the Police Station and near Stoke Mandeville Hospital. It’s about 10 minutes level walk to the Rail Station, Theatre and Town Centre. It’s in an historic building sympathetically restored. My bedroom (pictured) was to die for. It had a good shower and all expected features but with great attention to detail such as fresh milk in the fridge. Breakfast was included. I also had a lunch, dinner and afternoon tea (this was a working holiday after all!!). Each one was delicious. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and friendly and respectful of each other. There was a friendly and great vibe with patrons spontaneously chatting with each other. The venue does conferences at very attractive rates and I would love to book it for a party. Very much looking forward to coming back (especially when the wisteria is in full bloom

The location is on a main road - so a little traffic noise. We had a 45 minute wait for breakfast, but the quality was spot on.

It’s on a busy road! The traffic started at about 5am and is loud. I would suggest heavy curtains as well as the shutters. It would also be a very good idea to leave guests earplugs.

The good was excellent, although slow coming, but I appreciate it is all freshly cooked. The bars are very comfortable. The staff were all v friendly.

Have stayed before & will again as we visit relatives down the road. But the biggest issue is the inconvenience of walking all the way round the outside to access the bar & dining room. Especially at night & in the cold & wet, to get a drink to take to your room. It needs a rethink. There is a back door but not used. It's the only thing that spoils it for us

Great breakfast & service despite the staff member being on her own. We had to wait a while but she handled things very well

Room was lovely, breakfast nice, outside area of the pub was good dispite being on a busy road.

Our bed was okay-ish, but the mattress was not as comfortable as some that we've slept in. If you're sensitive to, err, personal noises, please note that the huge upper split-level bathroom/toilet in the Superior Suite (ie our room) is not separated from the bedroom below by a door.

Lovely room aside, it was the wonderful staff (Shona & Conner) that made our stay so memorable, with service that went well and truly above and beyond. 15 minutes before our ETA, Shona called to say that their car park was busy and to advise us to park in the alternative place around the rear. More surprising still; when our car broke down around 8pm that evening, Conner called his garage-owning Dad to ask for help and advice. We've stayed at £350/night hotels where we would not have expected or found that degree of helpful thoughtfulness. Food was scrumptuous, in the evening and again at breakfast. Our particular room - the split-level boutique room - was every bit as cool and funky as the pictures suggested. Location is perfect for visiting Waddesdon Manor, and pretty good for Basildon Park too.

Mattress was too firm for us but that’s personal preference, bed linen was very comfortable.

We stayed 1 night to visit a relative for Halton graduation. Beautifully designed rooms & bar area. Staff were friendly and attentive, we had a warm welcome from the start. The atmosphere is cosy and charming, lots of interesting decor and artwork. We had the best chips ever in the evening and a lovely breakfast in the morning. The selection of tea/coffee etc. in the room was lovely. Just wished we had managed to nab a room with a free standing bath!
