Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainThe fact that they don't have reception 24h is the main issue. You cannot check in out of times 3pm to 8pm, and they say you can leave your luggage but it's on a room with no key.
Despite the hotel looks a bit outdated, the room itself was very very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was large enough and everything looked fine.

New ZealandCouldn't turn off underfloor heating so was quite hot, had the window open and the standing fan on the whole time. A few fixtures in the bathroom were broken. Wifi kept cutting in and out
Easy check in, comfy bed, clean enough, basic amenities provided and easy to top up yourself. Reasonably quiet for an old London building. Standing fan provided.

United KingdomAt a first glance the room was quite clean, but after having a closer look the bathroom could have been cleaned with more attention to detail - there was a smell that suggested a lack of ventilation, which went away after having the window open during the day. There were also some red marker stains on the (white!) leatherette headboard.
Nice single room with lots of coffee/tea and toiletries placed in the corridor in case a top up is needed.

United StatesThis is a very budget hotel…small, room could use a bit of a refresh, thin walls…can definitely hear your neighbors. Basement room shower drain was not working well. Wifi didn’t work in the room, only the reception area.
Reasonably quiet street but close to a bustling area with lots of restaurants and grocery options. Loved the tea kettle and tea/coffee/biscoff cookies available. Nice little reception area. Very friendly staff. Very small and basic room, but gets the job done. The location is 5 minutes walk to the Earl’s Court metro stop…great for getting you anywhere you’d want to go as a tourist in London.

United KingdomIt’s an old building so floors are a bit squeaky. Not the best quality sleep because of this
The room was very clean as was the bedding and towels. Location is excellent, couple minutes walk to supermarkets, restaurants and the tube station. Big bonus was the fridge, microwave, kettle, iron and ironing board provided. Can’t fault it for the price

Clean, close to transportation, everything you need for one night in London, as we spent. Staff was accommodating, finding a solution so we can check-in after 8pm.

AustraliaNothing major, but in our room there was no mirror inside the bathroom, just a small vanity mirror. This made it difficult for my friends and I to get ready, so I'd recommend bringing a small portable one if you're in a group!

LebanonI had 4 bags and no one to help me transport the bags to my room. Please work on providing assistance staff for visitors who need help with their bags. I eventually had to transport the bags to my room on the 14th floor on my OWN! Very inconvenient.
The hotel was clean, the room was fairly spacious and the location was top, nearby restaurants and the center of the city, just a few minutes of walk away. Upon arrival, I was welcomed and served by a great receptionist - his name was Alex. He made sure my visit started smooth and checked me in quickly with a genuine smile on his face. Thank you Alex for your hospitality and professionalism, I will come back especially to greet you.

Quiet, yet central location. Lovely, helpful staff. Single room v. good for London. Good-sized, newly refurbished shower room. Lots of tea, coffee and biscuits (more available in the public areas). Toiletries and great hairdryer provided along with large, fluffy towels. Excellent value for money, given what I paid.

United KingdomLocation and price
It was close to train station, the room had everything we needed. It was nicely clean and warm even though the building was very old. The room was downstairs and very small but we were OK as my child just fell asleep as soon as we entered. We were in the room only for a night which was OK. The reception lady was very unfriendly and grumpy, but we didn't care as we just encountered her only twice- check in/out. I would book with them again as they are more cheaper for London.
