Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Was able to bring our dog with us. The breakfast was outstanding. We loved our room again. We came last year for a break, which was a Christmas present of our daughter.

The owner is lovely and makes you feel right at home from when you arrive. A beautiful location at the foot of Cockington / Torquay so town short walk one direction and the nature reserve the other. For our small family for a little break away this stay was perfect. Thank you so much.

A beautiful house set in a great location. Lisa and Christophe were the perfect hosts. The bedroom and bathroom were both spotless, and it had a dual aspect sea view. Breakfast was lovely too, there was a great selection of both locally sourced and home made items. My wife and I will definitely be staying here again.

There is nothing to fault here. A very well run establishment.
An excellent breakfast with good fresh ingredients and efficient service. The room was really clean and the bed comfortable. A nice quiet area within 20 minutes walk to the centre of Torquay. We would definitely stay again at some point in the future. Fresh milk supplied for early morning tea in the room.

Beautiful setting! Nice and peaceful, and a lovely sea view. The hotel was very clean, comfortable and homely, The host Lisa was very friendly and nothing was too much trouble, the breakfast was one of the best I have ever had, cooked by her husband, who is a chef, what a great team they are! This is a great place to stay, will definitely be booking for next year!

Absolutely spot on, had an excellent stay- if anything, I didn't see enough of the friendly cat ;)
Absolutely amazing hosts- incredibly accommodating, nothing was too much trouble! My partner is Vegan and she was offered soya milk for the tea & coffee in our room and offered various options for breakfast over the few days we were there - it's very rarely this easy! Our room was lovely and very clean, there was a mini fridge with fresh milk in which was a lovely touch. The bed was incredibly comfortable, slept amazingly - even though they were other guests staying we couldn't hear them at all. It's really convenient for exploring Torquay - the seafront and the town were a nice walk away along the front. It's a fantastic base for exploring and we'd come back in a heartbeat if we're in the area again in the future!
