Wet, cold and windy weekend, still surrounded by the wonderful, original art deco surroundings in the hotel. Loved it.

Car parking is limited and very tight.

Room had a lovely view out to sea. The location was good for walking into town, and the Pier was close by.

That there was not bottled water provided in the room.

Warm welcome on arrival. Location was perfect and had a room with sea view. Room had a Kingsize bed and was very comfortable. There was plenty of coffee and different flavoured teas in the room. Overall the room was well equipped and nicely presented with white bedding, white towels, hairdryer and plenty of storage and seating within the room.

It was just a shame the bedroom window was a little high up to be able to see from the seating area The wine on show - I thought it was complimentary at first!

Room: spacious, see view, comfortable beds, good temperature Paid extra for breakfast which was delicious Paid for an evening meal which was also lovely

As much as we liked the hotel we will not return until it changes some policies, they did not like to take cash and preferred you pay by card and put service charge on meals.

Hotel was clean, staff very friendly and helpful

The room was extremely small - a larger person would not have been able to get past the bed as it was almost touching the wall. For the price we paid I was disappointed with the room.

Lobby area is beautiful with original wooden features.

The room was really cold. In the daytime it was cool, but ok, but at night apparently the radiator was switched off, without any option to regulate it, and the room got really cold.

Nice, comfortable room, good location, good breakfast.

Only 'hiccup' was when returning one evening to find Reception area full with 'customers for an in-house event'....blocked stairway, oblivious to my attempts to gain access...( being of limited mobility found this a little disconcerting ).

Staff courteous....room presentable clean...daily housekeeping of room good...( a cheery 'morning/ hello' from housekeeper was very pleasant in the mornings).

The double bed was two singles put together, though comfortable it wasn’t what we actually booked. We were charged £30.00 for breakfast for two, though good, the individual prices didn’t add up to that and we felt robbed as it was actually free if you booked direct. The whole hotel badly needed painting. Our window was particularly in a very bad state. No Internet and a wonky television that wouldn’t sit straight. The lift finishing on the lower second floor, so to get to room 16, a bit of a hike. Overall it was very overpriced for what you got.

The stain glass in the hotel. The reception member of staff. The actual breakfast not taking into account the price.

Our only niggle was the coffee pots at breakfast, they need replacing as having coffee grounds in your drink isn’t pleasant. Also no hairdryer in the room, which wasn’t the end of the world but there was plenty of space and plugs so it would have been a nice addition.

Location was great, lovely sea view which is why I’d chosen this hotel. Room was cosy and clean, well appointed and the bathroom was spotless. Breakfast was great and reasonably priced for the selection. The restaurant was great and the food was outstanding, the staff were friendly and helpful and we loved our stay.

The hotel definitely needs some maintenance it was shabby in places .. peeling paint left unrepaired after water leak in main dining room Bathroom was exceptionally small and towel rail and water ridiculously hot burnt ourselves on towel rail …no warning label ..dangerous if a child was staying in room

The hotel is perfectly situated. The check in staff were great.Nice towels good breakfast great views.

If i had to find something negative, the basin wasnt in the bathroom, which was a slight inconvenience. But not exactly a problem.

Theyve obviously at some point halved the room size to double the amount of guests, so my room was quite small. But theyre still luxurious and, compared to the competition, still better and less expensive than most. Perfect location, lovely old nouveau stained glass building, right on the sea front, and just far enough away from any noise in the town, but still close enough to have a short walk along the beach to find somewhere for dinner. Lovely, friendly, helpful staff. A bit thin on the ground but my stay was in the middle of winter and they were quick to notice you and help. The breakfast though, that was the highlight. All top quality products; dense cumberlands, the tastiest black pudding ive ever had, bacon that doesnt taste of sodium metabisulphide or leave you feeling dehydrated, well seasoned with chives and thyme, and garnished with pea shoots, a novel and refreshing choice. I cant compliment them enough on that.

    Just the dining room chairs.

Staff were welcoming, friendly & helpful.Hotel was central very clean & food was very good.Found the dining room chairs uncomfortable.Would book a double room for myself next time.not used to sleeping in single bed.any more.Would have liked an easy chair rather than a dining room chair in my room.Appreciated the lift as have replacement joints.Would use the hotel another time.
