Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomA really lovely, cosy, very beautifully renovated space. Small but very functional and well thought through. Tucked in behind the main house, so just a little traffic noise in the day and absolutely quiet at night. Make sure you follow well described instructions on how to get to private parking area right by cottage.

United KingdomWe had a thick duvet on the bed when it was 25 degrees outside, all good when we took the duvet out of the cover.
The cottage was really comfortable and we felt at home as soon as we arrived. We had bottles of wine, tea, jams, milk and biscuits to welcome us. The bathroom was great. We both woke up feeling great.

United KingdomIt was a little hard to find the car park, but got there in the end.
I was only there for a single night, but the place was scrupulously clean, there were a couple of snacks and the makings for Tea and Coffee, an actual Roll Top Bath and the bed was incredibly comfortable. I love the original features of the cottage that had been preserved and place the place a real character. Kind of wish I had to stay longer but if i'm coming back to the area for work again I will actively try to stay here again.

United KingdomMaybe a shower curtain would be a good idea? The roll top bath in the big bathroom was fantastic but it was difficult not to get the floor wet when using the shower. A small bottle of shower gel would also be a bonus as I thought this would be provided, luckily I had a small bar of soap in my wash bag! These are very, very minor criticisms though and I have only highlighted these to help make a great cottage fantastic and they should not detract from what is a lovely place to stay. I would 100% stay here again, it was great.
A lovely little cottage in great surroundings to stay in with a little patio at the front to enjoy breakfast. The owners were very understanding of my difficult travel arrangements due to the very poor weather and my late arrival. Communication was excellent. The cottage provided a very warm welcome after a five hour journey on a classic motorcycle with tea and chocolate biscuits to greet me on my arrival. A very big bonus was the litre of milk, cereal and porridge provided for breakfast. The bed was very comfortable and the whole place was cosy.

United KingdomNot a dislike… a point to note is the door was a little difficult to open!
Lovely self contained cottage… excellent communication with detailed instructions for finding the property. The cottage was clean and comfortable. The owner provided some milk, orange juice and some breakfast items which was a lovely touch. We only stayed very briefly (bed for the night) but would have no hesitation in staying here again.

United KingdomThe cottage was so welcoming, its warm and cosy with lots of light and is so cheery with the yellow running throughout the cottage. There were some welcome supplies to welcome us after a long drive. The attention to detail is lovely and I would highly recomend a stay here. Bed is super comfy, lots of extra snuggly blankets too. The roll top bath is gorgeous too. Thank you so much for offering such a beautiful space for our mini trip to Suffolk, was the perfect location., will be lovely to come back again and explore more of Suffolk and use the cottage as a base again, Many thanks indeed, Francesca
