Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Slightly tired in areas but it didn't put us off enjoying the place

We can't think of anything as we really enjoyed our stay

The breakfast was good, but I did not like being charged extra for Americano coffee. Breakfast should include decent coffee not instant nescafe!
The location was excellent - very quiet -and the room was very cosy and warm with nice toiletries and organic sachets of tea and 2 bottles of complimentary Harrogate water and I liked the big comfortable bed. The staff were friendly, accommodating and cheerful.

Bathroom was a little dirty but overall no other negative.
Convenient to Stansted Airport, pub offers parking at a reasonable rate and details of local taxi. Room was clean and quiet. Excellent supper Friendly and engaged staff.

Nothing that we disliked. Suggestion - amend the website to say that food is served until 4.30pm and, if possible, the Booking.com info. Some parts of the beautiful building are looking tired.
Alex, the Manager, is a personable and friendly guy. The breakfast was excellent and we wished we had arrived earlier on Sunday so that we could taste the afternoon food which, we were told, is very good. The bed was comfortable and the room very cosy.

Husband was disappointed in the selection of beers on tap.
Pleasant location on traditional village green. Food was very good. House wine was surprisingly good too.

A walk in shower might have been a little easier but we did manage to get in and out of the bath to shower.
Bad and bedding very clean and comfortable. Room large and comfortable. Breakfast prompt and good choices. And what a delightful village clearly a great community. Even an exercise class on the green in the morning. lovely houses in the village.

Breakfast starting at 08:00 is very late for a weekday.
The pub/bar, restaurant and rooms were very well appointed and the atmosphere was very welcoming. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Would definitely return.

No hairdryer in room although there should have been. Difficult door to lock as it didn’t fit the frame.
Dinner menu was small but good and varied. Lovely location overlooking the green. Not too far off the main road. Good sized car park and easy access to rooms.

A warm and friendly stay in this beautiful establishment. The Cricketers Arms is aesthetically pleasing inside and out, with its pristine decor and pretty village green setting. The service is excellent, friendly and professional yet relaxed and welcoming. I am still thinking about my delicious bacon-maple- waffle breakfast, and the very tasty Sri Lankan curry I had for dinner. All the food coming out looked on point. The rooms are well equipped, with a fan, ironing board and hairdryer in the wardrobe, and basic toiletries provided. The beautifully scented grapefruit shower gel is spa-worthy. In all, a great stay (: and my new found favourite when I need a place to stay in the are. Thank you!

Room a little dated, tiny bathroom in need of refurbishment. TV and bedside lamps quite dusty so a little more attention to detail needed
