This is what Scottish Hotels are all about!! Church Bells and outdoor drinks. Local hotel with local staff who were all very professional and mannerly. Shown to my room and informed about breakfast ordering. Easy to fill out and in the morning I had exactly everything I had ordered. The breakfast was delicious and I could tell that all the ingredients were locally sourced. I can’t single out any ingredients but: Sausage: perfect Black pudding: immerse Tattie Scone: unbelievable Bacon: tremendous! I will be back!! I did have other things

The village location and had close to where I was working. Could have went for a standard hotel room with no character, but want to support independent retailers.

There were no negatives to the property at all that we could see, we did say a fan would have been good in the room because it was very hot, but we didn’t ask for one.. so there is the possibility that they had them available for use, so the onus was on us for not asking.

Very authentic, in a lovely little village. The rooms were clean, fresh and airy and the staff couldn’t be more helpful. Fabulous meal in the evening, highly recommend the home made Cullen Skink Soup, it was delicious!!! With a proper Full Scottish Breakfast in the morning, even got tips on how to prepare the perfect poached egg.. which it was! Proprietor was very present throughout the evening and the morning which was really nice to see, and Ian behind the bar was helpful and pleasant throughout! 😊

Because of the age of the building, 1703, and its position, on the Main Street, there is no private car park. However, the whole village has street or pavement parking and we were fortunate enough to park directly outside the front door. There were also several other spaces so parking is not a problem here.

The location was excellent for a stopover on the way from Yorkshire to Skye. Staff and owner were friendly and efficient. It is obviously a popular meeting place for the village who all welcomed us, and our dogs. The cleanliness and neatness of the whole pub was excellent.
