The staff were friendly and went out of their way to help you with what ever you need it. The food was excellent as 95% of the food cooked is locally sourced and and made on site by the chefs. I was really impressed with the staffs knowledge of food intolerance.

Minor quibbles - there was no seal around the bottom of the glass shower screen, so the bathroom floor became a bit of a lake. Although the breakfast was freshly cooked we had a very long wait and were not offered fruit juice or cereal beforehand.

We stayed at the Crown for one night before visiting the Shuttleworth Collection. It is a very attractive building with a large car park alongside, and bedrooms in chalet-style accommodation away from the pub across a beautiful beer garden. The room was clean and well equipped, with a very comfortable kingsize bed and a fridge containing fresh milk (always a plus point for us!) We enjoyed a very filling ploughmans platter in the restaurant and the bar served real ale (another plus point!)

Fabulous room with a super Comfortable bed and great shower. Felt really ‘homely’ not at all like a standard hotel room. Having a fridge was a great bonus along with good coffee! Definitely would book again.

The room was large, comfortable, and in a separate building from the pub/restaurant just across the garden. We included breakfast, and both that and the 2 dinners we had in the restaurant were really lovely. We had a large wet room, ideal for less able bodied guests, but there was no bath... other rooms might have baths, but I'm not sure.

The staff were engaging, and efficient. The bedroom was very comfortable clean with everything you need and greet attention to detail - even had hair straighteners as well as hairdryer for example. Linen was all good quality. The restaurant menu included local produce and really interesting choices with good portions and good value - the 10 oz gammon steak was fabulous!

Had Sunday dinner. Beef fatty, carrots half cooked ,cabbage mixture greasy.,roast potatoes not crispy.and creme brule mediocre no flavour and no crusty topping.. My partners pork was fatty too but he thought the crackling was great. Beer was flat too. £75 wasted

There was a pub sign high up on a wall, which you could not see whilst driving. Needs a clear sign at eye level, visible from whichever direction you approach. Sunday breakfast did not begin until 9 a..m - needs to be a good hour earlier. Having breakfast mad me late for an event nearby. On the whole it was a good, lively pub, and I would stay there again.

The pub is next to busy roads so not as peaceful when eating and drinking outside. The rooms, however, were double glazed so very quiet for a good night’s sleep.

The accommodation was bright, stylish, and spacious. The outdoor eating area was more than just pub grub on wooden tables and benches….. it was thoughtfully designed and very appealing and comfortable. The pub inside would have been very cosy in the winter months.

The pillows were quite flat but ok for a night. It would be great if there was a superking size bed option.

Beautiful room, clean and very well presented. Lovely to have water and milk in the fridge. Really excellent value for money. The service was superb and breakfast was delicious, would highly recommend, we would certainly stay here again.

Poor evening meal on the Sunday evening - obviously the remains of Sunday lunchtime and not good at all - very disappointing!

Very nice room, clean comfortable and well furnished. Good shower and thick towels. All good. Breakfast was good.
