Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomTired bathroom but functional. Squeaky floor boards. Dog friendly room but limited space for the dog to sleep.
Friendly service, good selection of beers, and great pub food. Cozy bar area. Very dog friendly.

United KingdomNot much to dislike about the property. It was difficult to find where to check in on arrival. Check in door was locked but eventually found someone. We were in room 8 which overlooks the kitchen courtyard. Very noisy. Extraction units were on and off all night and kept me awake and staff slamming bin lids occasionally
The ambience was very nice. Bed was very comfortable

United KingdomMy room was very nice but the pressure in the shower was very poor and it was impossible to run the bath there was just no water, I mentioned this on leaving and the lady said it would be reported but surely this should have been picked up when the room was cleaned??
Hotel was great and couldn’t fault the staff, stopped serving food early which I hadn’t realised when I booked and got in four minutes after the 8.00 finish so was disappointed not to even be able to get a sandwich but was directed to the local co op!

United KingdomCoffee machine is a bit basic and no decaffeinated choice, although the waitress supplied decaffeinated coffee bags when asked.
Breakfast was excellent. Good choice and cooked beautifully. Dinner was excellent too and as it was Supper Club night, excellent value for money too. Can recommend the steak and the duck, although watch out for the chillies on that one.

United KingdomThe view from room 8 was over the dustbin courtyard and the back of the kitchen - to be avoided! Dinner service the first night was extremely slow and took 1 hr 45 mins for two courses - having had to chase the food both times. We ate elsewhere the second night.
Excellent dog friendly location for visiting the area, with friendly welcoming staff. The room was sensibly equipped. The cooked breakfast choice was excellent, and the dinner menu had a good choice of meals at sensible prices.

United KingdomThe only issue we had was when dining in the evening. We waited 50 minutes from placing our order to receiving our food although the restaurant wasn’t busy. We ordered pudding because we were still hungry. Although the food was beautifully presented, there wasn’t sufficient for a pub main course. Pudding was served without much care and as we ate, there wasn’t sufficient staff were blowing out candles and clearing tables as we were the last in. The stay itself was lovely. The room lovely and we had a good sleep but we were disappointed, knowing the reputation of this place, that the restaurant wasn’t for us.
The person on reception was lovely. Relaxed, friendly, helpful and welcoming. The property was really well presented- we had high expectations. There was a relaxed and easy ambiance in the bar. The room was really tastefully decorated and thoughtfully equipped. We especially liked the items of antique and vintage which made the contemporary room look quite decadent.

United KingdomUnbelievably creaky floorboards above us! :(
Nice room; loved the little touches - the real milk in a fridge, the nightcap brandy (!); excellent breakfast; great staff. Come on a Wednesday - the 'Supper Club' saved us £30 for two meals and bottle of wine! Definitely recommended.

United KingdomRoom at back was dark- even though not full- so not sure why we were given this room? overlooking the waste bins and heating system. Staff throwing out trash at 11pm woke us up. Couldn’t have windows open because of hum of machinery. Bathroom old fashioned- why have seperate hot and cold taps? Shower in bath really hard to get into.
Staff lovely. Breakfast and dinner lovely

United KingdomThe room was a little small and a little noisy as it was on the ground floor and adjacent to the wooden staircase which accessed other rooms. There wasn't the full choice available on the food menu and they were skimpy with the amount of vegetables.
We liked the range of toiletries in the bathroom. Also there was a complimentary carafe of brandy in the room. The furnishings in the room were stylish.

United KingdomI felt that the restaurant service (for evening dinner and breakfast) was a little on the slow side - given the few number of covers. The staff were friendly but the kitchen needs to speed things up in my opinion.
The parking, room and accommodation were fine. All areas were clean and well maintained.
