Beautiful location on the Kennet and Avon Canal. Our room had a balcony overlooking the water. A lovely old pub with a stylish interior.

The shower had a bit of a mind of it's own. But that's would be our only complaint.

The hotel was lovely, beautifully situated and the room was stunning. I think the bed was the most comfortable I've ever slept in. The staff were absolutely lovely and couldn't do enough for you. We also had breakfast each morning which was also really nice. We chose this hotel because of it's proximity to other sights but if we to ever go back down that way again we would definitely choose to stay here .

No full length mirror in the room or tissues and the glass shelf in the bathroom over the sink made the wash bowl difficult to use.

The room wasn’t cleaned properly . We found some hair and dirt on the toilet paper. You could see clearly that it wasn’t done right. The remote control didn’t work well either as you had to come out of bed and come close to the tv to change channels . We gave up in the end .The bar area looks a bit depressing and nothing as the photo online but once you get over that, the place is ok overall .

The food was the best part of the trip for all of us . Lovely pub accommodation in a nice location. We stayed here as planning in visiting Highclare Castle. The room was very spacious and the river patio made it nicer. The food was excellent. My partner is gluten free and it was refreshing to see so many options available for him . There are lots of options for breakfast ( which was great too) I thought it was a bonus - for a pub this place excels when it comes to food .

A dog friendly canal-side room with a patio was perfect in theory for us with our dog but the four rooms / patios were not entirely secure - the dog could get between the four and wonder into other rooms if left to their own devices. I’m sorry to say we also had some ants in the room. These things happen so it wasn’t a dealbreaker, but there needs to be a bit more attention paid to preventing this

We loved that the whole place - pub and rooms - are dog friendly. The decor and furnishing were very comfortable. The setting between the river and canal was delightful! The garden looks gorgeous and we are thinking about returning for an evening out there in the summer. The food at dinner and breakfast was lovely!

Nothing, the place was lovely, beautiful setting, good food. Price of beer was a bit steep though!!

The only minor negative I could find would be that the bathroom was very warm, almost a sauna, but for some that would be a plus anyway!

The room was just beautiful - spacious and warm and with an amazing peaceful view. One of the most comfortable hotel rooms I’ve probably ever stayed in at this price point. Also, completely dog-friendly throughout which meant that our pup also had a wonderful time.

Although the food was good and the menu was interesting I did find the food a little salty for my taste.

Breakfst, when it came, was fine, but it took a long time to appear.

In spite of the fact that our breakfast took a long time to appear we were treted extremely well by the waitress (can't remember her name), who made amends in a very polite and helpful way by offering to re-imburse us with the cost of the meal

Nothing really! Room was a bit hot in the night but that's not a complaint. I just couldn't figure out how to turn off the radiator!

Such a lovely stay for our anniversary. Room was gorgeous with lovely outdoor area out on the canal. Would love to come back in the summer and bring wellies to do the canal walk. Food was delicious and so were the pints! Staff were really friendly and the pub and restaurant were great. The full fry the next morning was delicious especially the sausages. Will definitely be back for more than one night!

Bathroom very hot and there was no obvious way to reduce temperature. Although we had tea, coffee there was no milk. However, once I let the staff know some was provided straight away.

Expensive to eat and drink, they wouldn't take cash, shower a bit broken but did still work well enough. Things mentioned on breakfast list but not offered on the day (eg orange juice).

Lovely setting, great village, very helpful and pleasant staff, gorgeous room on river side, good strong shower. Yummy breakfast.
