Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IrelandThe breakfast offering whilst perfectly acceptable lacked a little polish. The staff were friendly and helpful though. There was a wedding disco on the night I stayed. It did finish at a reasonable hour. But, it might of been nice to let me know this was on when I booked.
The riverside room that I was in was very pleasant and it was lovely to open the french window and listen to the river whilst relaxing before going out for dinner. The duty manager was very friendly and particularly helpful.

United KingdomIt was a shame that they are not serving evening meals at the moment, which may have been a result of why the bar was quiet and closing early.
Friendly staff and clean rooms, perfect location in the town centre. Breakfast was lovely and fast service. If your not great with stairs, ensure you request a lower floor, its a quirky old building but well maintained, with a section that involves an old staircase.

United KingdomWe were facing the road and noticed there was a night club opposite. Friday night was quite noisy with traffic and drunken people loitering about until the ealy hours. I guess if you had a room facing away from the road it would be better, Saturday night was far quieter.. I would ask for a room facing away from the road if I were to visit again. There is function room downstairs which if in use could make parking onsite a bit tricky if you return later in the evening.
We were staying on a Friday and Saturday night for a family wedding nearby. We were able to park our vehicle in the onsite car park. Our room was functional if on the small side. Breakfast was plentiful with the full English being served at the table. The breakfast room was pleasant with views of the river.

United KingdomNot a big concern but the corridors are a little "tired" - but pretty much on a par with what you'd expect at the price point, so nothing to worry about. They are also interrupted by numerous little stair sections which could be a problem for people with limited mobility.
In the middle of town. Friendly front desk staff. No air-conditioning (as expected in an old pub hotel) but thoughtfully, already provided a desk fan to help stay cooler. Big free car-park. Nice new bathroom.

United KingdomI had messaged ahead 7th June, I had asked for a room in a quiet part of the hotel. I understand this might not have been possible due to the room type. It would have been great if the hotel contacted us to see if we wanted to change room type to accommodate the quiet room request. There was a nightclub opposite, just my luck, being a very light sleeper and one who struggles to drop off to sleep and can't wear ear plugs. The club opens on Saturdays 11pm until 4am Sundays, I had no sleep due to the thumping noise from the club, and people talking loudly sat on the steps. The heat rose to unbearable, as I tried to shut out the noise by closing the window. When the club closed, people from the club came into the hotel, meaning repeated banging doors and creaky floors and continued noise, then, even though there were dark curtains the sun came up, gone was my chance to sleep. We also found the mattresses very firm, we lay on top of the duvet as it was so warm, so there was a little extra padding. If we returned, I know to ask for a room at the rear of the hotel.
I had previously contacted the hotel team, who had sorted a check in issue for me. We parked in the car park, which has a narrow entrance. When we entered reception we rang the bell, the staff member on duty attended without delay. He was very welcoming and informative. The room was on the second floor, you can use stairs or a lift. The room was warm but had a fan to try and cool it down a bit, and there was an opening window. There was plenty of clean towels for the bathroom, there was a shower over the bath. The room, which was on the front of the building over looked the road. It was a good size and had a wardrobe to hang clothing. Breakfast was pleasant, in a nice dual aspect room, and the staff again were lovely. We had a wander around Newtown in the morning and we quite liked the town. Check out was easy, just post the keys in a box. All in a pleasant stay, we would stay again, in a different room.

United KingdomI asked if I could leave my car in their car park after staying the night and before leaving at 3 pm. I was told yes but returned to find a note on my car telling me not to park there.
Very nice location near the centre of town and by the river. Also ample parking.
