Staff could not make an ‘old fashion’ cocktail and brought me a concoction that was terrible. I am confident and refused it. They then went to the restaurant and the barman made a delicious one. They should have done that in the first place - the only fault in my stay.

Breakfast room had no ambient music so every conversation could be heard across the room. The atmosphere was a little stilted but food was amazing! Unwelcoming gym/spa staff - instead of saying "there are groups using the pool until midday" they looked at my children and said "no children until 12 so you will have to wait and anyway there is a group in the pool" which felt rude and dismissive.

Friendly welcome with easy checkin, beautiful room with vaulted ceiling, comfortable bed, plenty of space even with child's fold out bed. Lovely breakfast. Relaxed atmosphere. Lounge was lovely and relaxed to read in. estate walks were interesting and grounds beautifully looked after.

We weren't keen on the sausage for the English Breakfast, but that was just our personal choice. The fact that there was so much more to choose from didn't make this a problem.

All the staff were so friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast choice was amazing with a huge table full of healthy, tasty, delicious accompaniments. Loved all the little nooks and crannies, bars, lounge area all very comfortable and clean. It was great being able to go for a walk in the grounds and we especially liked the swimming pool. We don't have a dog at the moment but it was great that the hotel was dog friendly, all the dogs and their owners were friendly and well behaved 😊

The steaks were pricy at close to £40 and the bedrooms were a long walk down a warren of corridors with no lift to the uppper floor. The bathroom was modest in size and although the shower had clear instructions the water flow was poor .The shower itself was the step in variety within a bath. There were no separate phone charging points and bedside lighting was difficult to get to work properly. The gym/ pool is well patronised by local members and was so busy we decided not to bother on the Sunday morning

Pleasant country setting . Easy check in with friendly helpful staff . Extensive parking . Reasonably priced menu in Bar & Grill with decent range of food options . The beds were large and very comfortable . Good tea/ coffee facilities and complimentary bottled water was very welcome. Access to gym and pool facilities was also included.

Some staff at breakfast, especially on the Sunday morning were chaotic. Hotel felt a little unloved in places. Bar prices were extortionate. Pool was out of action for most of the day we were there.

The pool was unfortunately closed when we wanted to use it as a family and for the whole day which was a real shame as that's one of the main reasons for us booking the property Also the showers were complicated and temperature fluctuated far too quickly

The room was looking in need of a refresh. Chunks of paint were missing from the bathroom ceiling and chipped architraves. The staff were ok but they don’t go out of their way to welcome you. We got overlooked a lot in both restaurants despite the fact the staff weren’t busy. Staff were within earshot discussing how they were hungover, which isn’t very professional. Unfortunately on this occasion it was the staff which really let the experience down.

The hotel is in a fabulous country location. I really liked the pool and spa facilities. My husband and I both had really good massages.

This was the perfect last minute getaway for Valentines Day/Night. Lovely location, comfy room, lovely breakfast and Great value for money in terms of using the SPA on day of arrival/departure. The staff were amazing, so so helpful and very accommodating particularly Maeve. We would definfitly come again 😃

Very little - except poor levels of signage in places ...arrived late at night , wasn't clear on arrival where main Reception was.
