The hotel car park spaces were few, and usually full. Parking on the street competes with the local house owners. Day 1 I found a fairly close space, and the receptionist/porter helped me bring my stuff from car to room. On leaving, I had to leave the car outside the entrance while I loaded up. Fortunately, no one was inconvenienced by this.

A tiny room but all facilities present. Modern and clean. Good dinner and breakfasts (cooked or buffet). Good views across the bay.

Having stayed at the hotel back in late 2016, was disappointed with the overall ambience, in particular with the bedrooms. They are looking a little tired and in need of updating and, for this reason, felt that the cost of £174.00/room was too high.

The food was good quality and value for money. The staff were friendly and helpful which made the experience very comfortable for the younger members of our group.

Parking not easy - street parking around though..didn't attempt steps down to the beach!! Maybe some might consider dinner a little on the expensive side?

Location great , beautiful views, traditional furnishings and atmosphere, evening meal very good and cleanliness excellent .

Parking (but then that is most of Swanage). Far too hot in the rooms and hard bed ( for us).

The sea view and gardens. The original features. Walkable to town centre but distant enough to feel remote. The sound of the sea. The shower cubicle was one of the best that we had used in a hotel. Kettle in room, not just coffee machine masquerading as a hot water provider for tea! So lovely not to have coffee tainted tea. Sound of the sea from our sea facing room.

When viewing gym/sauna facilities I asked if I could look around, which I was told yes, it would have been a nicer experience if I had been shown around as did not actually get to see/find the sauna. Felt uncomfortable about asking again. Not busy at the time I looked.

Room was with balcony and sea view, that did not disappoint. Did not have breakfast. Informed by receptionist if we had booked directly they would have included breakfast for the same price as booking.com. did not feel this was appropriate when checking in although very pleasant . All staff friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

The only choice for a vegetarian at Sunday lunch was disappointing, especially as my fellow diners enthused about their Sunday roast. I ate it because I was hungry but it was a bit too spicy for me and wouldn't have been to everyone's taste - and there was no bar menu or sandwiches as an alternative. It was irritating having to trek up & down to the bar for fresh water, especially as one of the bar staff obviously didn't want to be there - he did his job, but with no 'customer service'. There was no information in the room, whether about the room or the local area, other than a WiFi card. The Grand's website needs upgrading.

The view!! From the public rooms and from the newly refurbished bedroom, the view is superb and with that much can be forgiven elsewhere.... Good shower and comfy bed - wonderful sleeping to the sound of the sea 😊 Breakfast was delicious and good value. Staff were mostly polite, efficient and helpful, apart from one barman. The public rooms are modern & comfortable within the grandeur of another world.

There is very little parking, so be prepared to unpack your bags, hastily by the side of the hotel and drive elsewhere to find a parking spot. This wasn’t a problem for us, as we stayed in November, so there was plenty of parking on the street nearby, but I can imagine it would be an issue in the summer. A few more sofas rather than formal seating in the bar would be cosier. Lots (60-70) of steep steps down to the beach would be a challenge for the less able.

Amazing location, perched high above the beach with a panoramic views over stunning Swanage Bay. The staff were very friendly. Rooms were clean and comfortable. My mother had a wonderful massage at the spa. A 10-15 minute stroll into town . I will definitely return to this hotel as it is good value. Loads to see and do nearby Durlestone, Corfe Castle ( wear good walking shoes) and even an evening at the tiny Rex Cinema in Wareham
