All the Have have found corresponded to my expectations. I can suggest having maps of trails near by so on short walks we wont get lost and can appreciate at fullest the beautiful country side from the hotel and surroundings. But this is off course a insignificant detail

Surroundings' the accommodation fit the picture presented on the website. The food was good and the staff was efficacious

No TV connection to wifi, both room TVs turned on with the same remote control, VERY expensive drinks in the bar, too much salt on the food, steak was massively overcooked and overpriced.

Beautiful, very large room, extremely clean, very comfortable.

Worthwhile visit to this 15th Century former Coaching Inn and Courthouse.

    • Double or Twin Room
    • Stayed 1 night

Booking.com don't have a facility to request the room to be a double or twin - this obviously could cause problems, in my case a standard sing bed is too small but fortunately the 'twin' b ed was a bit larger than a single.

Overnight stay in this incredible historic Inn. Extremely well refurbished, felt original but as comfortable as a modern hotel. Very good evening meal, reasonably priced menu, good full English breakfast. Competitively priced for the area, nice gardens and adequate parking

Could do with a few more choices on the menu to include pub favourites and maybe a selection of lighter bites.

Dinner a little posh for me, but good quality. Room excellent, warm, clean and very comfortable. En-suite was very well kitted out, clean and new.

In the morning for breakfast we were shown to our table and the member of staff took our order then walked away, it wasn’t until we saw other guests with juice and toast that we realised these were available (we were sat round the corner). The breakfast sounded good but was really quite poor. My cooked breakfast was missing the black pudding, had one piece of bacon, one sausage and the egg which I’d explained I couldn’t eat soft was soft :( I would rather pay more and get a decent breakfast rather than a free one. We stayed in a room which was facing the road and although you can hear cars it didn’t bother us, what did was the guests over head who were awake until the early hours, every step they took we could hear through the floor boards so it’s something to be aware of. I did want to give feedback direct but no one was around when we left, I followed this up with an email to head office but again no one has got back to me :(

We stayed for a lovely romantic break and found the room was amazing! The decor was lovely. Food in the evening was fantastic and we both agree it was one of our favourite places to stay :) we o my had one drink in the bar but sat beside a roaring fire was lush.

Value for money overall based on condition and size of room. Not much really, but glad I didn't pay full price.

Lovely aesthetics - very much a period establishment. Plenty of free on-site parking. Breakfast was excellent (especially the porridge with fruit compote). Bed was very comfy and shower was decent. I got an excellent discount due to having built up booking.com credits, plus I got genius discount and an easter getaway discount. This means I paid only £46 for one night with breakfast included. However the full price would have been over £100, and given the size of the room and how tired it was (flaking paint / plaster; loose electrical fittings etc and a smallish room) I can't say it was excellent value.

Not a great selection of vegan choices for breakfast, didn’t respond to emails through Booking.com.

Beautiful property, great location. Very friendly staff. Very helpful, in particular and loud music was being played in the night, they were very helpful in locate in where it was coming from and asking them to stop it.

    - Small tv, size of A4 piece of paper - Lack of towel hooks, the shower was at the opposite end of the room to the towel rail - Slip hazards, shower tray, bathroom tiles - No storage options for toiletries - No iron - Different mattresses for each single bed pushed into a superking, uneven sizes - Only filter coffee at breakfast though coffee machine clearly on and not given as an option - Automatic 10% service charge at dinner. However, wrong drink order, gave a fork for a soup starter and scallop was cut into thirds

    - Large car park, plenty of spaces - Dog allowed in bar area - Great location for country walks - Extremely clean inside and out - Nice decor and well maintained grounds - Varied continental breakfast selection - Full English was rich and filling
