Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.

No complaints whatsoever about the property, staff, etc. However, the information on Booking.com is in need of updating. Leaving aside the out of date Covid instructions, the info relating to check in is slightly different on Booking.com than on its own site, where check in is advertised as from 11am. But this is a minor observation on another wise great few days.
The staff were absolutely first class and the location perfect. The breakfast was also excellent. Also, there is ample parking which, unlike most hotels now, is not charged for separately. All in all an excellent experience.

We stayed in the smallest room (room 6) but we still found it to be spacious enough and the bed was extremely comfortable! We loved having the tea and coffee selections alongside the slices of homemade cake - which were delicious!!!! Breakfast was also exceptional. Overall we had a fantastic stay and couldnt fault it!

Nothing. It was all perfect.
Everything! Wonderful location, lovely and quiet but a 5 minute walk into Windermere. Fabulous staff - friendly and helpful. Super comfy bed and a great shower. The breakfast was so good- one of the best we’ve had anywhere. The daily homemade cakes were delicious too. We have always stayed in Bowness but we are converted and would definitely stay here again. Thanks so much for a wonderful relaxing break.

The wifi isn't great, to the point where I used my phone as a Hotspot for the TV in the room. By no means a huge issue but when we wanted to watch TV/a movie in the evening before bed things weren't really loading on the hotel wifi.
Really good service, all staff were super friendly. The fresh cake each day was fantastic. Breakfast was also very good.

We were in the split level room and the staircase was a little tight but the bathroom downstairs was very spacious
The bedroom was very comfortable and the bed was as comfy as our bed at home. The breakfast was delicious and it was all too easy to eat far too much! Spoilt for choice and it was all tempting. Special treat was a choice of homemade cakes every day.

The stay at the Hideaway completely met our expectations.
Excellent breakfast, cooked perfectly on both mornings. Great choice and generous portions. The cake of the day is a lovely gesture. Located a short walk from the centre of Windermere Town, where there are shops, restaurants and bars. Free maps were in our room, along with an excellent guest information guide, highlighting local restaurants etc. The WIFI was great.

Plenty of choice for breakfast, booked slots so no waiting to be served. Home made cakes daily, delicious. Plenty of parking and able to still park following check out. Staff very friendly and polite

Lovely full English breakfast and cereal with vegetarian choice. Bed was very comfortable. Staff were friendly. Hotel was close to town centre, but a little way down a lane, so nice and quiet. Just 1 mile from lake ferries, which was a nice walk. A free home made slice of cake every day was a nice touch.

The location is excellent, very quiet but within easy reach of Windermere for restaurants,etc. Rooms are clean and very comfortable, with all the facilities you could wish for (inc. TV and wifi). The breakfast is a thing of beauty. And on top of all that, there’s free homemade cake every day.

My only complaint is that it was a bit small so we couldn’t fully open our suitcases. Might have had more room without the sofa.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Richard the owner had great suggestions on where to go and what to do. Room was great.

The water pressure in the bathroom was not the best but we didn't have any expectations and it didn't ruin the stay.
Incredibly friendly and caring hosts made us feel valued and looked after. The room and all shared areas were very clean. The location is brilliant. Breakfast is always made to order and the choice is great. Free freshly made cakes will always have a special place in our hearts. Totally recommend.

Perhaps more chairs in the bedroom.
Very welcoming and helpful staff. Breakfast was great and the chef accommodated my vegan diet. Short walk into Windermere and to the lakes.
