Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThere were stairs and a small refrigerator would have been nice, but these are minor inconveniences.
The location was great, the staff was excellent and the breakfast was out of this world! Although the room it was small, it was well designed and comfortable.

United KingdomThe only upgrade needed was to the internal room doors which needed a clean or re-paint.
Fabulous location near to the shops and restaurants but in a quiet oasis with a beautiful park at the end of the road.

United KingdomSlots for breakfast would be more efficient as cooked choices were slow (despite being excellent when it came) on busy days, e.g Saturday. Veggie sausages and baked beans for breakfast would be good! Chocolate in the honesty bar, as well as crisps and alcohol!
Breakfast was excellent when it came including Gluten Free choices. Location was great: less than 10mins to Abbey. Honesty bar was a thoughtful idea.

IrelandBreakfast was lovely and I got it on spec (i.e. I hadn't booked for it). I was sharing a bathroom, which was fine because I knew the other person I was sharing it with. Otherwise it would have been a bit odd.

United StatesWe didn't have towels in our room when we checked in, but staff very quickly remedied this. They did seem to be a bit short-staffed overall, but it didn't take long to get someone to be available to answer questions. Be sure you are able to climb stairs as the house is a historic townhome and you will need to climb stairs to get to your room and/or to get to breakfast.
Breakfast was delicious every day. The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. The location in Bath couldn't be better - you're no more than 10-15 minutes walk from most of the key tourist points in the city, but it's on a very quiet street in a quiet neighborhood.

United KingdomThe bathroom was very small with the sink out in the bedroom which I wasn't keen on - I'd rather have all the bathroom stuff in the bathroom personally. This arrangement does fit with the style of the place and age but it is a bit odd these days. The shower was really nice though, soft towels and nice smellies. Didn't sleep very well, found the bed and pillows a bit lumpy but that's such a personal preference it's hard to suit everyone's needs.
Great location, only a few minutes walk from the centre but in a quiet area away from main streets. Breakfast was very good, we weren't expecting such a good choice and quality. The staff we met were helpful and polite. We had a superior room which was a good size and we asked to change from the original one allocated which was next to the front door and they were able to accommodate this - we thought the other room being right by the entrance might have been a bit noisy. Loved the honesty bar as well and the extra touches like robes & slippers in the room and what looked like homemade biscuits.

United KingdomMy friend was kinda yelled at for sitting in the Reception chair. The hotel better put up a sign telling guests not to do so.
It’s within 5 mins walk from the River, restaurants and supermarket. Rooms are tastefully decorated with sufficient space to move around; staff are helpful. Bathrobes are soft; nice cookies served!
