Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Arab EmiratesThe only thing I would say is the bathroom was a little cold. Didn't seem to have a heater inside. Also the water pressure was not ideal in the shower and the temperature kept changing from hot to warm. So the morning shower was the least enjoyable part of the stay. I didn't bring it up to the staff honestly so not sure if this could have been resolved during my stay. But it wasn't significant enough to bring up.
Great location, staff were nice and lobby lounge is really nice. The room is comfortable. A little on the small side but expected for central London. Generally felt like great value for money.

TurkeyI have reserved 2 rooms for a family of 4 people, as the rooms were not looking large enough at the description on the website. We were given rooms at the roof floor, which due to the half-ceiling were even smaller and uncomfortable. We didn't request change as it was December 28 and rooms were full as was initially stated during the check-in. As well as the bathroom was extremely small in size and felt uneasy using the toilet and the shower. The carpets were old and too dusty despite all the efforts of the cleaning personnel, who were excellent at their job. The rooms need a renovation soon, especially the doors and the walls. The breakfast at the hotel was way below you expect from 5 star hotel. The price is a lot higher comparing other same category hotels, 40 pounds for adults and 30 pounds for kids plus service charge of 12,5% and surprisingly they automatically add gratuity, which they later removed from the Bill given the I waited for around 40 minutes for the order, part of which the waiters forgot to bring. Better to use the Cafes around the hotel for breakfast which offer much more and for the below price.
Overall location of the hotel was very good. It was both in a quiet area, where there wasn't extra noise of the neighborhood, as well as was 5 minutes away from South Kensington U station. It was 7-8 minutes of walk away from Natural History Museum. The staff, especially Michael at the reception, Orcun at the concierge were very kind and attentive. I kindly asked for rooms close to each other, which was perfectly executed.

NetherlandsIt is such a charming hotel, in an old townhouse. Very nice but till quiet neighbourhood in Kensington/ Chelsea. But also a lot of restaurants around the corner and Hyde Parc on walking distance. The staff and concierge are wonderful, friendly and so very helpful! The decoration of the hotel is amazing! United StatesOur room was small and our room experienced loud noises from a Club, I believe, on one Saturday night, late for about 2 hours. Otherwise, our stay was very nice! Our friend, who was traveling by himself commented that his room was very small.
Staff was excellent, friendly and very helpful! The main area of the lobby for drinks and meetings was very nicely appointed and the flowers in that area were beautiful. The exterior area was also nicely kept with pretty fall flowers. We stayed here in successive years about 7-8 years ago but then drifted away because the rooms became smaller and smaller, the service was not as good as when we first stayed at the hotel, and the pricing was too high. We decided to give the Kensington another try this year and were pleased.
