We were on the ground floor and a family with children were directly above us. From around 5:30am I could hear the children running around.

Checking in was very quick and the staff were very welcoming. Room was nice, bathroom very spacious. Breakfast was £12.50, the choice was good and very tasty.

Lacking organisation on occasion e.g. staff availability at key times to serve / top up breakfast items. Layout of breakfast items and coffee machine means it gets very congested in one corner as you can’t get to the butter fridge / juice / yoghurt etc if people are using the coffee machine.

They add a 12.5% gratuity to your food bill - noted in very small print at the bottom of the menu. Would have given them a 10 but for that.

Easy parking, staff were attentive and helpful, the room was clean and fresh - overlooked the courtyard. Food was very good indeed - we had an evening meal and breakfast.

The breakfast was very slow and I had to wait 10 mins longer than the rest of my party for a similar order. So I sat there waiting while everyone else was eating. Also all the breakfast orders had mistakes and some items were missing and replaced by others. eg. I didn't get any bacon or tomatoes which I ordered. my sister gave me some of hers so that I didn't have to wait ages again. The room was a bit scruffy in places e.g. broken toilet holder, towels had slight stains.

The room was comfortable and quiet. The evening meal in the restaurant was excellent and the service was impeccable. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

When I arrived my room was very cold so I needed to turn the heat up to warm it up. Breakfast was disappointing and the food only barely warm.

The staff were welcoming and very attentive. Dinner was good although expensive.

The mattress was too hard The exterior doors into the main part of the hotel ( this Is away from the old part) stuck, we had to get receptionist to let us in, luckily he was strong, in the end they left the exterior door open, not necessarily safe. The wine and beer selection was not great, surprised at the low quality of the wine by the glass

The room was spacious and clean with a decent sized bath and shower. We ate dinner in the Hotel on the 2nd night and it was excellent, a pork chop in a mustard sauce with mash and veg, very good indeed. The location is great for a trip to London on the Oxford Tube

Self service breakfast needs trays. You have to walk back and forth to the dining area with a cup . Then queue up again for food. Not easy for us who have walking sticks.

The only thing that could have been improved would be to have a toilet brush in the bathroom and to have the shower gel container topped up as it was empty when we arrived and for the duration of our stay.

We had a lovely stay. The staff were super friendly and so accommodating. It is a lovely hotel, we will definitely be back.

Hand no body wash in my room and the cleaners didn’t empty the bin in the bathroom and it had the previous guests sanitary products in. I also found the room quite cold. The staff also clearly favoured regulars so I felt I didn’t get a good service for my evening meal or breakfast.

Nice location, exactly what I needed. Quiet and despite being near a road couldn’t hear any traffic. Most of that staff were friendly and accommodating.

The whole experience was pleasing, restful.. The staff remembers us staying there over the past few years.. Xmas decorations were lovely and the breakfast was delicious.
