I did not realise that they had a live band on a Friday night when i booked it. I was looking for a early night as I had a LONG day on the Saturday at a business event. The live band finished around 11pm and then the DJ was playing music until midnight. My room seemed to be right above the music, so it was well after midnight when i fell asleep.

the room was good. little quirky, but fine for 1 night. The location was beautiful next to the river, especially with an outside drinking area with tables.

No on suite,toilet across the hall, Had to walk down the road for breakfast in the rain. No sink in room,Fill kettle in bathroom. No parking at pub unless you get lucky. Pub has no atmosphere just ramnd with tables for day trippers food.. Had a Sunday lunch on arrival.Waited 40 mins only to be told they'd run out of Beef.Was offered lamb instead,25 mins later food turned up. Very poor ,All veg and meat nearly Raw.

Location Breakfast was great,At The Swan down the road. Room was warm although very basic. The pubs partner venue,The Swan was lovely and would have been a better choice.

The room went through a very damp and dirty conservatory. This was part of the rooms facilities but was not suitable to use. Unfortunately the very damp odour seeped into the room.

Location brilliant. Breakfaar and food in the main pub was amazing.

Lovely staff fantastic breakfast room lovely and clean. Only issue was bed was very squeaky kept me awake. Other than that this is a lovely hotel and will return, just in another room only because of the bed. Young girl serving breakfast lovely and friendly :) can't express how amazing the breakfast was compliments to the chef :)

There was music noise in the rooms during the afternoon but not an issue later as we were in the function area watching the band 😀 If you want peace and quiet, it may not be the place for you unless you like music and fun . Noise from the band could be heard in the Penthouse where the young children were. Overall I recommend the Malthouse brilliant time.

Friendly staff comfortable rooms. Had a family meal in the snug area which was great. Celebrated my 60th with my family . Had a great time. The Penthouse Appartment was across the car park and was great we also had double rooms in the main building.

Room was extremely cold when we entered, although staff informed would warm up shortly. Heating did come on in bedroom however bathroom was still cold as towel rail wasn’t heating up. We attempted to shower before bed but shower was cold. No big issue as showered first thing and shower was warm.

Room was well equipped, and bed comfortable. All relevant information given when shown to room. Breakfast was lovely and staff very attentive. Live music was great, drinks menu was good. We had a lovely evening.

We arrived for breakfast, ordering a full English, Pancakes and coffee. We waited 30mins for coffee and over an hour for our breakfast. No indication of why or that the wait was likely to be considerable before we ordered. One family actually went for a walk by the river, came back and STILL hadn’t been served breakfast. Our food was then without fruit (none left) and toast (forgotten) These things happen but not a word of ‘sorry it’s taking so long’ or ‘we are short staffed’ or even ‘can I get you another coffee’ did we hear. I didn’t dare order more coffee and add yet more time on so we went somewhere else and finished the lazy breakfast we had hoped to have.

The bar and evening restaurant staff were fantastic, and our meal was wonderful! The starters were especially good. We stayed in a clean and pretty room with comfy pillows and good sized bathroom and had such fun with the bar staff and band that we went to bed very happy.

Walls in rooms need soundproofing I could hear the conversation in the next room ( and my neighbours were not quiet, not directly the hotels fault ) room would also benefit from a mirror and shelf in the bathroom, minor inconveniences given the quality of the rest of the hotel.

Had a meal in the restaurant and the room was cold so much so we were all wearing coats.

Great location, TV in room didn't work and being above the disco on a Saturday night you could sing along to all the tubes in your room.

The Room was very "Compact".. We were in the Turquoise Room which is in the building next door. The bathroom was across the Hall. The Tap dribbled & then came to a halt which made washing & brushing teeth difficult. The Shower has a leak near the Toilet. Light bulb missing in bedroom. Had to fill kettle by using the mug provided as it didn't fit under the tap.. Could've done with a plug at table level rather than having to scramble under the table everytime we needed to plug in chargers.. The plug socket next to the Heater was cracked (Hazard!) This was in no way a "Superior" bedroom as specified in the booking..

Tv didn't work the staff did try to help but it wasn't sorted. The bathroom radiator didn't seem to bring out much heat even though we had it on the whole time. There was no wifi in that room. There were no windows and it's the side of the nightclub which you could hear.

Curtains are very thin. No soundproofing so it’s very loud if anyone is outside the building. Could do with a second bedside table.

A couple of snagging issues. Mirror at resting table was to high to sit down. No bath mat or toilet brush. Anyone staying needs to be advised about no sound proofing (age of building)

Nice decor lovely staff and the food in the restaurant was great. Went in the bar to listen to the band after. Great views and location.
