Room size helpful staff, good food, tiny room

Nothing could have been better.

We liked everything about this fabulous hotel. The staff were wonderful and could not do enough for us. Special mention has to go to Andrew on front desk who went above and beyond to help us after we had a medical issue. I dont know what we would have done without his help. Also Shaminee (hope the spelling is correct) who was so helpful and friendly. Thank you to all.

The room was a little bit tight.

Breakfast was superb with a great many choices available - amongst the best that I have ever seen. The bed was exceptionally comfortable

You can never book into the spa as a guest as all the spaces are taken I got food poisoning from the Indian restaurant and was violently ill

Magnificent imaginative menu and / or buffet. Cooked fresh to order, delivered promptly. Toast delivered sensibly in stages. Very pleasant staff attention, important for first thing in the morning.

We loved our whole stay the only draw back is that the car parking is not with the hotel wish makes it tricky when you need your car to get to the ferry asap. The room we were initially given was very small so we upgraded which was lovely but was expensive.

We loved the hotel, the location is great and the food was amazing at breakfast and dinner. The staff were also very helpful.

Parking was very tight to get to tight spaces but given the location easily accepted there were not many options really!

Fantastic evening meal in the restaurant and great breakfast also. Room was good with a decent shower in the bathroom comfortable bed and decent enough view over the port (weather was terrible but I’m sure on a clear day it’d be a nice place to sit and have a drink!) made use of complimentary access to the spa with 2 jacuzzis a steam room sauna and chill out room all very pleasant! All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful when needed.

The extra charges added to all food and drink plus the tray charges plus another service charge plus a charity donation charge make it extremely expensive to eat or drink here.

The staff are as everybody says exceptional. A problem I had with 1 of my blinds was fixed instantly. The service around the pool is outstanding and the pool itself wonderful.

There was nothing to dislike everything was exceptional

The rooms Aircon had failed on the first night of our stay and the manger Kris upgraded us to a suite the following morning, the room was absolutely beautiful the staff was so accommodating and friendly and our stay was just perfect. Thank you

The colonial style art/pictures in the Curry Room are inappropriate for this day and age.

The staff were all exceptional, we appreciated their attentiveness, knowledge, friendliness and warm smiles. The location, overlooking the harbour, was great for a stroll after dinner and the food was excellent. The amazing jazz pianist (during dinner) was clearly a great favourite too.

The food is lovely but expensive.The chef’s menu, which is fixed price, was good but it was the same every night we were there.

Location was perfect, breakfasts were brilliant and staff were friendly, polite and efficient. Bedroom very comfortable and shower/bath wonderfully hot.

A very minor gripe… the TV was clunky and unresponsive to operate, it felt rather out of date.

A wonderful stay in a special place, made particularly lovely by the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. The OGH has a way of providing a 5 star experience without being pretentious.

The spa was ok - shame it wasn't accessible from the pool area, and it closed at 6pm which was far too early. The room was fairly small and overlooked the road and the bathroom was a little dated - it was clean and comfortable though. Sadly the restaurant was fully booked so we weren't able to eat in there in the evening.

The breakfast was fantastic - excellent choices and faultless service :) All of the staff were incredibly helpful and absolutely brilliant. The outdoor pool area was lovely.
