Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaThere was nothing we didn’t like!
The hotel was amazing very well located in the town. The staff were very friendly especially Olivia on our check & Rebecca our waitress at dinner. The bar staff even remembered that I took ice in my wine 😊. The rooms were lovely & the beds very comfortable. The food was amazing 🤩 There was also a waterfall running outside & a beautiful lighted tree. Wish we could’ve stayed longer.

United KingdomHairdryer very difficult to use as the control is right at the thinnest part of the handle near the flex. Restaurant did not always provide perfect food though the menu was extensive and lovely.
Bed and pillows excellent. Very good sleep. Staff second to none and they absolutely make up for any other small niggles.

United KingdomThe first night we stayed we experienced quite a bit of noise from the band playing and woke up a few times from people being loud outside the front after the band stopped - however this only lasted till 12:30/1am. We were front facing and could see the outside of the front of the hotel. This is something I knew when booking though as you get a warning, so can’t really complain! If I were to suggest anything as a slight improvement it would be better insulated windows - but as the hotel warns you before booking at least there’s transparency.
The breakfast and food in general was exceptional, we absolutely loved the pancakes & French toast. The room was spotless, the bed was really comfy. Location fantastic.

CanadaRestaurant meal was tasty but overpriced (this is Pitlochry, of course;)
Centrally located, gorgeous large room in the back, right on the stream for water sounds (which we like), otherwise very quiet. Free parking. Breakfast was excellent.

United KingdomNot much. Nit picking: Most Breakfast in other hotels has been self service, fairly efficient and occasionally waste minimal. Here, we felt “ over served” if that’s possible . We wish the music on speakers outside in the hotel grounds could have been switched off at 10 30 pm as predicted. We missed out on an hour’s sleep!
This was a well run family business in a town dominated by tourism. The room was comfortable and clean. Meals were mainly good and service was excellent and friendly. We are mature cyclists. Our bikes were sensibly stored overnight.

Centrally located with that fabulous old rustic charm. Loved the running stream next to the Inn. Rooms were fantastic. Comfortable bed and great shower. Car parking available as well was a bonus and breakfast, lunch and dinner were all divine. Every single staff member was awesome. One of my favourite places I’ve stayed. Definitely recommend The Old Mill in 10/10

Loved everything about the Old Mill Inn. If I could give it more than a 10 on everything I would. We were coming in from a 8 day trip in Ireland and my husband said he wished he had come to Scotland sooner. The stream beside our room was so wonderful to fall asleep to. You couldn’t get a better location. The breakfast had a good variety and the staff were outstanding. From the minute I checked in I was treated great. From the personal walk through on where to park and the after hours door instructions. You will NOT regret your stay. BYW on Mondays they play the bagpipes and walk through the streets (and people follow) down to an outdoor performance of singers, dancers and some Scottish comedy.
