Nothing. - well minus the part where another guest literally refused to let me in and blocked the doorway to smoke. Had to prove I had a key. Absolutely daft lol. This is a rare occurrence and usually if you come back at any point in the day the place is super quiet anyways.

Great location. They’ve opened up a little Morrisons around the corner now too which is good for snacks ect. Close to the train station and Chester Live Rooms music venue. Plenty of takeaways and kebab shops in this area too. Good for walking into city centre too or you can get the bus from the train station (not on Sundays) Fayre is £2 and it gets you from the station to the main shopping street outside primark. The bus runs during the day and the walk isn’t too bad at night it’s a quiet area. Lovely little pubs nearby Deva Tap is best for food and drinks. Plenty of choice within Chester itself too. I’ve stayed here for the past 2 years for my line of work and never really had any issues. Any room I’ve had has been really nice and clean and of course the ground floor rooms are the best. I had room 2 this time and was surprised to see a van right outside my window. Easily fixed by closing the blinds. Didn’t want anyone peeping in 😂😂 The guy that runs this place is super lovely and really helpful he shows you to the room explains how to unlock the doors ect and what to do with the main door. Well that’s until you’ve stayed here the amount of times I have. I am now remembered each time my favourite rooms are remembered (room 2 hehe) and I’m left to check in on my own as I know how everything works and where everything is. If you can get past the dated lobby decor then this is actually a cute little place to get your head down for the night. It’s easy to see why rooms go so quickly. The price is really good too for what you get as well. I often shift between here and the premier inn on the other side of the train station. It just depends on what’s available when you book. The more advance the better with this place.

Was greeted with a lovely welcome, the places smells amazing like you’re walking into a spa, very clean, quality fixtures and furnishing, very comfortable beds too! I will definitely stay here again what a find that was!

My stay at Ormonde Guest House was wonderful! The warm greeting upon arrival set the tone for a fantastic experience. The rooms were quiet and impeccably clean, providing a peaceful retreat. Location was perfect, just a walk into the city. Owner was excellent, greeted us and helped us park. We were particularly early checking in but this was no problem at all for him. He ensured everything we required was available, even down to parking us in a spot where we would be free to leave early the next morning and assured us he would direct other cars to ensure ours was safe and free to leave early. Thank you.

Perfect location, with loads of eateries and The Lock Keeper pub next to the canal. Room was small but super clean and very comfortable. Great customer service too, friendly and helpful. I'd definitely stay there again.

Small bathroom but could be extended. Lack of dish and drying up cloth in kitchen and could do with just a couple of cleaning facilities in kitchen such as bleach or spray for guests to use. Apart from that, fantastic place to stay!!

Lots of floor area, nice big kitchen. Really comfy bed. Plenty of of tea, coffee and milk provided. Easy access in an out of establishment and secure. Bash was a fantastic host, very helpful and polite. Will be back very soon!

The surrounding street and certain neighbouring properties look a bit worrying but don’t let it put you off , the hotel is good!

Fab location for train station, the live rooms music venue and stroll into town centre. The hotel was lovely , the rooms were comfortable and had brand new memory foam mattresses and pillows! They were so comfortable we had a great nights sleep. Everything you may need is provided free Wi-Fi, tea / coffee making, toiletries,, lovely white towels, hairdryer, desk , make up mirror , full length door mirror, safe key fob / touch sensor operated doors felt very secure. Ground floor rooms if needed. The hotel has a small car park so bonus if you can get in it.. touch screen key fobs to rooms and cameras on communal areas so felt very safe. Very quiet at night so had a great nights sleep.

The service was exceptional. The manager was really courteous & helpful, sorted my parking immediately & carried my bags to my room as he was aware I had poor mobility. The room was spotless & had every amenity I needed. The price was very reasonable & they paid half to the parking fee.

I wear earplugs so didn’t hear any airborne noise. But on my final night the guest in the room next to me was very loud with their movement which I could feel from just lying on the bed, they woke me up quite early and slammed the door as they left. So the impact noise through the floor isn’t the best. The pillows are a bit too thick for me and even after getting a thinner one from reception I ended up buying a soft travel pillow.

I was given a double room which was a nice surprise. The receptionists are very friendly as well as the cleaners who cleaned my room daily. The room was amazing, very nice shower, a desk and 2 chairs, hanging area for clothes and could not hear noise from the outdoor carpark. Good location for the bus and train station and only a short walk into the city centre. And you can leave your luggage at the reception on check-out which is very handy if you are leaving Chester by bus or train.
