The shower enclosure didn't fully close, and the temperature and controls were problematic. The door to the bathroom did not lock.

Excellent hotel with excellent location located at the sea side and only 30 mins drive from Scafell Pike! extremely clean & comfortable . Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the friendly reception staff Gillian and other team members! Gillian makes our trip more interesting with her advices & tips about the routes and mountain, cafes, restaurants are within walking distance. Would definetely recommend this hotel to everybody! It's a true sample of excellent hospitality and it’s dog friendly!. Thank you again Gillian for going just that little step extra for the guests!!!

The suite was a little chilly in the evening, heating only seemed to work in the early morning, otherwise we really enjoyed our stay there.

Very comfortable hotel with friendly and cheerful staff. The general decoration was in good order and pleasant, the bar area was very comfortable and welcoming. The food was delicious, menu varied and tempting and the portions generous. Really enjoyed the breakfast. Our suite had a nice view of the bay and the street below, quiet at night, the bathroom was huge with an excellent shower, bed very comfortable.

The only downside was that our room was very warm which made a difficult to get comfortable at times, however we just opened the window and turned the radiator down which helped a lot.

The staff were so friendly and helpful and the food they served was very tasty, especially the breakfast which was great value for money. Would definitely stay here again!

I was looking forward to having a nice steak but the menu at the time didn't have one. Sadly the vagaries of Northern Rail and if trains will be cancelled may make this a difficult option to choose in the future when I need to rely on the rail network to get to my work location

the breakfast was very good, it's a beautiful setting for a hotel and very quiet, parking is surprisingly spacious and so close to the local train station which in theory should make it perfect.

The only thing which made my stay slightly less than perfect was the long wait before my breakfast order was taken, despite having booked a timed slot the night before, and the offer of only a single cup of coffee with my meal.

My room in the Pennington Hotel was stunning, with a massive bathroom (walk-in shower and separate bath) and huge comfortable bed. I had a fantastic night’s sleep and woke really refreshed. The location was perfect, just a minute across the road to the estuary and a couple of minutes away from the Ravenglass and Eskdale steam railway. The bar and restaurant area were beautifully decorated and my evening meal was delicious.

Every thing was good so no negatives from me.

Lovely hotel, have called in many times and always wanted to stay. It didn't disappoint , clean ,friendly and in an excellent position,room was really good with a view over the main street and across the water. Car parking was good, bar was also, breakfast was fab with a good choice. Wish I had eaten there in the evening because where I did eat wasn't very good and the Pennington restaurant looked a lot better

Would like the option to start breakfast a little earlier, even 6.45 for Cereal & Coffee as some residents work for SL and the last direct bus to Plant is 7.45 which make breakfast a little rushed.

The only thing I could say was we stayed in room 3 And the room above the floor boards we very noisy which any movement of them walking about disturbed our sleep but would defo stay again
