The location is delightful, set up with a fifties diner with added interest in Morgan cars. The facilities were terrific, everything you might want for a stay all available. The hosts have spent much time anticipating every need and it shows.

Given the cost of the stay breakfast could have been a bit better, fresh fruit, bread not full of ice when taken out of the freezer and some cereals that were not at their best out of the jars, better to have individual cereal packets as they would be fresher.

Didn't realise the breakfast was self catering although the facilities and food provided were very good.

Greeted by the owner on arrival. Very friendly and welcoming. Shown to accommodation and explanation of all facilities etc was excellent. Provided details of local taxi services, very helpful.

It wasn’t a problem, but be aware that you are staying in an amazing Morgan workshop and showroom so you have to speak to the host about where to park - there is always space and the cars are part of the charm!

It felt like we were staying in our own apartment! The bedroom was beautifully decorated with a big en-suite. Having the huge diner/kitchen was a lovely bonus, with lots of food supplied by the hosts so we could make our own breakfast and have drinks & snacks during the day.

We would liked to have had extra pillows & perhaps they would have been supplied but we didn't ask.

Breakfast was self service but everything was available if you wanted it. The lift up to the bedrooms was excellent.

Needed a quick stopover, arriving very late & very early start for a Stansted flight. The call from Melvyn to explain the set up and very thorough email providing access information was exceptionally helpful. Meticulous attention to detail on the room decors & diner fully equipped and accessible at any time was a huge bonus. Room & bathroom clean & comfortable. Being only 15 mins drive to the airport, I would always choose to stay again over using a impersonal chain hotel.

Nothing - everything was absolutely spot on! I didn't venture out or order a meal in but there is plenty of choice with menu's from local pubs, restaurants and delivery service.

These lodgings are an absolute must for Car enthusiasts. I was met by Melvyn's daughter and later on met Melvyn himself. Both were very nice people and I received a very good reception, in fact Melvyn made time to show me the Morgan showroom. The 'help yourself' American kitchen diner had anything you needed and was a treat to behold. A fantastic stop over in the country but close enough to major roads

It is a wonderful little place to stay. It is very special with all the cars around that you can have a look at. Amazing to think the owners made all of it themselves. The breakfast area is so much fun! I wish I could have stayed longer.

Absolutely no complaints... And I spend a lot of time in hotels!

Absolutely brilliant....a proper find on booking.com and somewhere I would be prepared to detour to next time I am in the area. Really comfortable rooms and great facilities. I would definitely recommend this to anyone, but especially motorheads!!

Melvyn PitStop is full of charm and an unexpected place in the middle of the country side. The surprising, yet charming, mix between old cars and route 66 diner makes the place very special. We didn't meet Melvyn since our timing was very tight, but he made all the checking instructions super easy to follow! A great stay, albeit too short!!

The location is near Stansted Airport and easily accessible for everyone travelling through Stansted Airport but quite difficult to go to London City, especially on weekends and by night.

The whole family of the owner was super nice. A must for all oldtimer fan. Decoration was all self made, especially the kitchen was very nicely furnished.

Could have done with more, better and brighter lighting. The PC in the room was slow, very slow and still used old Windows XP software. Nothing else to moan about.

Good location, sizeable room with lots of character. Self service kitchen ( American Diner style ) with wide variety of breakfast food and drink. Sizeable vintage bathroom that looks great. Nice hot powerful shower. pleanty of storage and cupboard space.

The pit stop was very well like a home from home You had the kitchen where you help yourself from the moment you arrived till you left ! Amazing 😻 Well equipped and everything you needed and more Can’t wait to return Great location the Thatcher’s pub was great for sunday lunch and the orangery for Saturday dinner was truly the best food we have had in a while !
