How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The parking wasn’t great although we did manage to park outside.
Old world charm in decor, furnishings and carpets. The Family Room with sea view was lovely and spacious. Friendly helpful staff. Delicious breakfast in charming surroundings.

We had a twin room and to be honest, it fell below expectations. It was very small and the beds were just adequate for a 6ft 2in gentleman. The bathroom had a good shower but space was limited. I would stay again but only if there was another room option available.
The location, staff and meals were excellent . Parking was easy and the location was really convenient to the village facilities, beach etc.

Our neighbouring room were a little loud and we could hear every word at 7am.
This pub is fantastic. The atmosphere, the staff and the menu were all great. Parking was easy as well. We particularly liked the breakfasts!

Small double beds Exterior could do with a little sprucing up!
Cosy traditional pub, interior has a good atmosphere . Great location, good food. Great breakfast. Lovely staff . Very clean and good facilities in the room plus our room had wonderful views of the bay.

Food very good if a bit too much for us!! Location perfect for visit to RSPB Leighton Moss and only a minutes walk to shore. As we had a puncture there was a very convenient local garage across from hotel

Assume as expensive to update , just feel furniture a little dated but fitting the age of hotel. Bathroom was only slight let down. Bath panel broken . Think need update bath and shower but overall lovely stay.
Had double room. Lovely seaview. Comfy bed. Dressing table mirror, coffee table. All u could need iron and ironing board. Hairdryer. Tea coffee etc as expect. Lovely towels. Very clean.BUT BEST THING IS THE BREAKFAST. Stay here alone for the food .

Having to come home haha.
The sea view from our window was absolutely fantastic, our room was light and airy with a lovely window seat. There was more than one place to sit and relax in or room with plenty of space to walk around in both the bedroom and the bathroom. The garden in front of the hotel is a lovely peaceful place to sit and listen to and watch the birds. The restaurant has homemade .are delicious. We relaxed by the lovely open fire., and again had so many options as to where we sat as the hotel has several cosy lounges. The staff were friendly, efficient, and helpful and hard working. The bay is literally a 2 minute walk around the corner where you can sit and enjoy the sunset.

Nothing to dislike
Great location with lovely walks to the shore, Jenny Brown's Point and across the common. Handy for the bus service to Silverdale train station and to Carnforth. The breakfast was plentiful and cooked well, with a good choice for vegetarians. The hotel is comfortable and clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. Good selection of beers in the bar and a wide choice of food on the menu, again with a good vegetarian selection.
