Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe only thing was I miss not having a chair in the room.
The pub was welcoming and comfortable. The room was what advertised with en-site.

United KingdomReally very little to dislike at the price I paid. Irritating noisy neighbour but not really the property's fault. The trams make a bit of noise but I was soon asleep.
Another great value for money accommodation in an excellent location. The room was billed as a double and just about matched the billing. Bed was comfortable, tea and coffee facilities. Shower, towels and toiletries all very good. Staff are really nice and very helpful. Bonus ball is the bar is a real ale orientated operation though sadly I could not indulge on this occasion. Location is superb for for busses trams and Beeston train station mainline direct to London and Derby. All in all this an excellent stay for the single or budget traveller.

United KingdomThe only let down for us was there was no hot food on when we stayed but there are plenty of places close by so not to bad.
The room was clean and tidy with tea making facilities and TV. The ajoining bathroom had a very good shower with a wash basin and WC. Both rooms had a radiator so the room was nice and warm. The staff at The Star Inn are friendly and helpful. It was a short walk from The Star inn to the town center and very close to the tram stop that will take you to Nottinham. All in all my wife and I enjoyed our stay and we would stay there again if in the area.

United KingdomNo Biggie, the mattress in the room I stayed in could do with turning - beginning to have a slope on one side.
Good location and value, friendly staff even when the pub is very busy. Note if you prefer a quiet stay this isn't the place for you - full on Ceilidh happening one of the nights, awesome music!

CanadaHard to say, for a tiny room like that, it is very hard to add more stuff there. I believe the hotel management is trying hard to keep it in a good shape.
We stayed here for one night. Overall experience is good. The hotel is pretty old but the room is clean and tiny. It is right above a busy pub but we did not hear too much noise. 5 minutes' walk from Beeston train station and the Tesco is nearby. The wall is paper thin as I could hear the talking from the room next to us in the morning. For one night stay, it is ok.

United KingdomThe parking is a little limited - fine if you arrive early, but can be full by the evening. There is some street parking a few streets away, so you can move your car in during quieter times if necessary. As an FYI, would not be a suitable hotel for those with mobility issues - stairs to access and narrow corridors.
A very nice stay at The Star. The room was clean, comfortable and well equipped, and it was very easy to check in and out, as long as you can arrive within the pub's opening hours. Well located for Beeston, the university, and central Nottingham via the tram stop just outside, and near to lots of useful amenities and a good local running/walking route down by the river to the Attenborough nature reserve. Considering there's a pub downstairs, noise is fairly minimal, though the walls are thin so you do sometimes hear other guests coming in and out. All in all, an excellent value stay in a city which can be quite expensive for hotels.

United KingdomDidn't realise location was on very main road. Noisy trams but good double glazing. Thin walls so woken up by someone on an endless and loud phone call, bed was squeeky, but none of these things were deal-breakers. Would have been good to have an extra blanket as the duvet was thin.
Friendly arrival, clean room, clear key instructions and easy access without having to navigate large pub. Perfectly fine for a one night stop-over. Good transport links to town. Bed was comfortable.
