Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe breakfast was muesli or weetabix with a pint of milk in the fridge. No fresh produce. There was a toaster but no bread.
Lovely room with big comfortable bed.

United StatesNot much to say here. I guess the included breakfast could have been a little better. Not of a fan of scents, so I could have done without the fabric softener used on the towels.
Wonderfully outfitted suites in a prime location. Absolutely beautiful! I will be returning to The Steading. One of the best places I have visited. Highly recommended!

United KingdomAs it's a self catering studio, if has a fridge in the room. I'm a very light sleeper and it would me up a couple of times. Probably would not affect most people.
Nice and quiet, as I came on business so wanted some rest in a comfortable place.

United KingdomWe didn’t meet any staff the reason for not finding an appropriate rating for that question! And I do like to meet a host or hostess! I don’t remember requesting a quiet room, but we could hear the group beneath us and something like a washing machine (central heating?) during the night. Neither of these were too noisy or bothered us. Wondered if there might be capacity to make some things more sustainable eg noticed there was a refill shop in Aberfeldy for topping up washing-up detergent and compostable ‘plastic’ bags for rubbish bins.
Loved the ‘Coorie’ style decor - felt home from home! Great having the kitchenette area

United KingdomThe room we had lacked clothes storage and it was very warm, this isn’t a complaint other than I had turned the heating off and the room was still very warm, had we asked the hosts though, they probably could’ve helped us
The property was very clean and felt very homely, the bed was very comfy and the shower was big and relaxing.

PolandMidges repellent is a must (or they just love us). That would be great to have a net in the window. The location is somehow "Aberfeldy"... With a car that is not a big deal (few minutes to the town) or you can take a walk by the river, so that can be an advantage or a small disadvantage depending on the point of view :)
You can feel like somebody cares of you when you stay there. The small things like body lotion in bathroom, a nice coffee machine or bathrobe really makes the difference. On top of that, the owner is very easygoing and helpful person :) Would definitely come back there one day.

United KingdomThe double bed was actually two singles joined together which is always a little less comfortable as you run the risk of falling into the gap!
Room and location were beautiful - looking out to the hills with a lovely thatched house in view too. Breakfast food provided in the room was amazing - fresh fruit, eggs, bread, smoked salmon, yoghurt and more.

United KingdomMe and my brother traveled to Scotland on a motorbike road trip and we got lucky enough to book for 2 night in the steading 2, on arrival it was one of the most beautifull locations I have ever been to, the deer with antlers on the field to the left on arrival and also a few fawn to so keep your eyes peeled, the whole grounds are absolutely phenomenal from cottages with thatched roofs to old tin roof barns,we both stayed up into dark having a few drinks and later on into the night we were met by 4 full sized white barn owls swooping around the grounds and we also saw rabbit rams and all kinds of birds whilst we stayed here so plenty to see. Getting to sleep was a dream as the beds are very comfortable and plenty if pillows too and also very warm so absolutely no issue, lovely assortment of coffee and tea, multiple cereals and milk in fridge, plenty of cutlery , I was very impressed by the set out of the place as it had everything we needed for a good start to the day and a very well rested night.what you pay for and get in return is more than just a place to stay, it really made our trip something to remember and we will never forget the amazing time we had over just 2 night too!, we will be booking the steading everytime we travel up north without a shadow of a doubt,we can't thank the owners Sarah jane and Will enough it really made our trip something to stay with us forever.

United KingdomI stayed in an upstairs room with velux windows so views were a bit limited. In the description it mentioned a patio area. Not sure where this was but it was not next to the room which would have been disappointing had the weather been good.
I loved the setting. Very tranquil. The room was beautifully furnished with high end soft furnishings. It had a modern shower room and kitchen area with sink, fridge and microwave. Breakfast was provided in the fridge. Excellent selection including fresh fruit, smoked salmon and pastries. Communication with the hosts was easy with quick responses. Lots of excellent walks in the area. Highlights of my visit were a visit to the Crannog centre in Kenmore and seeing red squirrels at Cluny gardens.
