Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments

- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

A downstairs toilet would be great (even outside) for elderly visitors. This did not detract from our visit however, as we knew it didn’t have one. I didn’t like the fact that we couldn’t stay longer. I have already recommended it to others and would love to visit again and spend longer.
The property was everything and more than it looked in the photos and in descriptions. The parking spot was convenient and the lovely front garden, along with this, gave a very good first impression. The cottage is deceptively bigger than you might expect and immaculately clean and well presented. I liked the fact that the decor, besides being lovely, was fitting with a period cottage but with a contemporary touch. The welcome package, provided by the hosts, made us feel like we had gone to stay with friends. It was like a warm hug. Bed linen and towels were superb and the beds were very comfortable. The location was even better than anticipated, with village amenities two minutes walk away, including shop, food takeaway and pub. Even if you visited without a car you could easily walk from the station too. All three generations of visitors in our family loved the cottage. A fantastic find!

Absolutely beautiful home away from home! We came here over Christmas with our dog and the property was super cosy from the moment we got there. It has everything you could need and is the perfect locations for lots of lovely walks beyond the Lakes.

We took a couple of dogs and there's not much grass around for them to do their business. Not something we'd anticipated but if you have a fussy pup, it may be a challenge.
Wonderfully clean, cosy and quiet. Felt like a home, not just a holiday cottage. Host's communication was excellent.

The kitchen tap was wobbly and felt unstable so just needed to be gentle and use both hands when turning it on and off.
A really cosy little cottage that has been well thought out and considered. The log burner was very welcoming and the kitchen really well equipped. Great selection of games in the cupboard, very comfortable bed and an excellent shower! A great find to break our journey.

Double bed not comfortable for us. Getting hot water from the kitchen tap was a bit of an art..
A nice cosy little cottage, the central heating and a small log burner kept the place nice and warm during a February cold snap. Good kitchen utensils etc. Nice welcome pack of biscuits and a bottle of red wine, nice double bedroom, adequate bathroom. Easy access, good contact with owner.

Very clean, tidy, comfortable and spacious cottage. Felt like a home away from home. The location is perfect for exploring the Lake District, especially Lake Windemere which we drove to a couple of times. Couldn't ask for more, really.

Can’t fault anything.
Ideal location, close to all the tourist attractions. Comfy, cosy and well stocked. Spotlessly clean. Close to amenities such as shop, bakery, take away, pharmacist and pub/restaurants. Locals very friendly.
