Early closure of the hotel at 10.30pm - if late arrival guests would have to phone a local number to get the hotel unlocked. I arrived after my meeting at 10.30pm and the doors were already locked - fortunately a member of staff had not quite left the premises. Steep stairs to the room on the first floor and several journeys had to be made to collect luggage from the car.

Warm and comfortable with excellent breakfast and attentive staff. Good car parking arrangements.

Location excellent. Wedmore is a pleasant town. Staff were very welcoming, loved the pop-up bakery on the morning we left.

I can't think of any issues - apart from no iron in the bedroom, so we went to dinner in crumpled clothes as the staff were too busy to bring up. But we didn't care as we were starving :-)

Fab recommendation from someone I know who lives locally for a spontaneous night, while we were in the area. We were not disappointed. Gorgeous room in fab pub in a beautiful little village not far from Wells. Huge bedroom with king size bed and bathroom with shutters that opened out onto the street at the front. It was lovely and we were sorry we weren't there for longer. We will definitely stay again. The staff were also very nice. And gorgeous tasty dinner with veggie options. A really pleasant stay.

It might be time to check the central heating radiators and lighting in bedrooms. But such a wonderful place that it seems unkind to point out any negatives.

The staff were excellent. Hazel in particular struck us as so good ( she was everywhere, checking us in, overseeing breakfasts, arranging dinner bookings, etc) that we thought she was a manager. As an experienced CEO, I would have hired her in a nano second had I been in the hospitality industry. But all of the staff we met were polite and helpful.

We had the loft room which was very hot, not the hotels fault as there was a heatwave, normally it would have been a good room

Lovely old coaching inn, good dinner and breakfast and nice garden. Also dog friendly.

Room was comfortable and clean, secluded even - but at the back and overlooking the (hidden) kitchen fans which were very noisy. Decor in room was tired and there had obviously been a flood from above at some point as carpet had stain and ceiling badly painted. The bathroom featured a deep traditional tub with hand held shower attachment - luckily both husband are reasonable sprightly 60's and I were able to climb in and out but I don't recall being asked when I booked... I made booking well in advance and felt we perhaps deserved a slightly better room for the price paid.

Extremely friendly and welcoming staff, who were genuinely lovely, and exceptionally high standard of food quality and presentation. Fantastically comfortable bed. Breakfast wasn't included but we could add it, we liked the clear pricing on each item and enjoyed a 'full Swan' on our first morning. Lovely toiletries in bathroom and great complimentary bits. Great location in the heart of Wedmore which is a really pretty little village with a lot of niche shops.

    Nothing. It was all great.

Lovely friendly pub with great rooms, nice garden, good food and lovely staff. All very relaxed and relaxing. We'd definitely go back again. So nice to have a room with good reading lights. Nice touch. The soaps and shampoos were very welcome, as was the tray of tea and coffee. Worth contacting pub direct to see if any special deals on offer. A very easy and happy visit.
