How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Unfortunately no breakfast or dinner service but was explained before arrival and understanding why.
Location for where we wanted to be, friendly owner, room clean and tidy. Biscuits in room a bonus.

The bed was very hard and uncomfy..not worth the £300 i paid for the 3 nights stay..needs updating in a lot of places if im honest

Wasn’t as good as the pictures, tiles coming off walls, damp patches needs a lot of updating

the location is perfect, tram stop opposite but walking distance to the pleasure beach. very quiet at night so perfect if you have children

No breakfast option but understandable due to no chef at the moment
The staff were lovely very helpful, rooms were decent sized with smart TV and good WiFi. The conservatory was nice to sit at night and have our doughnuts watching the lights. Lots of hot water in the bathroom. Was a decent hotel for the price would stay again.

The reintroduction of food especially breakfast.
We had a brilliant break in Blackpool, the host was very good, nothing was too much trouble for him. The hotel could do with a little tlc and updating but not enough to spoil our stay.

The room was okay for the price. The staff was more than helpful and have been accommodating towards me and my family. Convenient location. It was near Pleasure Beach and near the shore as well.

Not being able to get breakfast but we were told before we got to the hotel so was prepared
The hotel needs a bit of updating,was very clean though and the owner was lovely and we were made very welcome.

The smell of tobacco or cigar as you enter the hotel. It is a none smoking hotel so I'm not sure where it came from. 1st floor room was really hot and only 1 window opened. I didn't raise this at the time & I'm sure if i did, there might have been something they could have done to help. The hotel is a little dated but can see where improvements have been made. With a little investment this place could be 10/10. Being next door to the hamilton made the waldorf look like the poor relative.
Location fabulous & quite. Outside play area for children. Free parking. Friendly staff. Cute dog. Stunning plant in reception. Clean fresh bedding.

Nothing we enjoyed our stay.
I didn't have Breakfast, the location was really good for the amenities we wanted (Pleasure Beach and Sandcastle Waterpark) only a short walk away.

room was clean and fresh bedding good quality, as were the towels, tea and coffee replenished daily, we did not have breakfast. tram to city on doorstep. Free parking at rear of hotel, is good ,one of the reasons for booking this hotel. and has a lift and a bar. Steve on reception was welcoming and helpful. and a great host.

No choice for breakfast we had two young children so the option would of been ideal as its a fair walk to the busier parts of Blackpool. Room was quite warm windows only opened slightly as no key for window lock. Booked a sea view room but we were on the side of the building facing Hilton so not exactly the sea view we were expecting
Friendly staff, Quick & Easy Check In, Good size room, Clean & Comfortable Bed. Good location for Pleasure Beach & Waterpark. Slightly later Check Out which was good. Tea & coffee replenish daily, beds made, towels changed & bins emptied.

a little run down on the exterior.
