Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Our delux room was in a different building, I knew that and that was fine. But the carpet was awful and very stained. It made the whole room look grubby. Also on the write up it stated some bathrooms don’t have a bath. Our bathroom didn’t have a shower. Being of a certain age having a bath wasn’t easy for us.
Food was excellent! Staff very friendly. Excellent position for the town. Good bed, lovely towels. Good car parking facilities. Wi-Fi was very good.

Just car parking at £15 was excessive and the fa t this was for disabled blue badge holders. Stayed at numerous hotels in Harrogate and this was first time we have been charged.

Overnight parking at £15 for guests seems excessive. We parked further up the road for free.
Lovely bright room with plenty of hanging space for clothes. Iron and ironing board in the room plus tea and coffee making facilities. Staff were helpful and welcoming.

Greeting from the receptionist who checked us in was cold and she told us little. Our room was great in that it was double aspect with one window looking up Cold Bath Road and the other onto The Stray but it was above the outside drinking area and because the windows are old, do not fit, are single pain and leak, there was no noise insulation so we were kept awake till late at night/early morning as people were still sat out well beyond closing time.
Breakfast was very good with a good selection. Location of the hotel is excellent. Bar area is excellent with a great selection of well kept beers and friendly staff.

Parking was extra and it was a bit annoying having to get the tickets validated, especially if you went in and out more than a couple of times. Room and bed seemed very tiny. I think they have divided up bigger rooms (in an old building) into as many smaller rooms as possible. Whilst it was ok, it was a pretty tight bedroom and bathroom and probably wouldn't want to stay more than a couple of night because of this.
Location was perfect for exploring (on foot) Harrogate. Fat Badger restaurant was great - had an amazing meal there on the last night of our holiday. Handy on site parking (extra fee), room facilities all good/present that you would expect.

The hotel was in a good location and the room was lovely and clean round the bed a little hard, but this is a hotel l would recommend. The breakfast was great and the staff were friendly and helpful.

No vegetarian sausage at breakfast. Breakfast cleared away by 945. Shower pressure not good. 2 single mattresses on bed do gap in the middle.

Booked to night break.On booking in we were told we were in sister hotel up road.I use a walking stick to walk due to many medical conditions,l am slow at walking&find it difficult in rainy conditions,so wasn’t happy having to go out in rain on first morning.Luckly I had my partner with me so he was able to help me.I dident see anything on net about possibly be in sister hotel.If I’d seen something about it I would off thought twice about booking.
Hotel was in ideal place for all amminets.Staff were very nice.nothing was to much trouble.Main hotel had lovely atmosphere.We ate on both nights in hotel meals were lovely.Onlything was we were asked if we wanted water for table,and said yes.On paying the bill we were charged£4.50 for water.(as table staff opened water&put it on table we weren’t aware it wasn’t tap water).

Our room 102 overlooked the bins and was very noisy in the mornings when the rubbish was collected.
