The bedroom was cold, otherwise acceptable for the price.

Breakfast was fine. I selected from what was available. I had to get help from my friend to pour coffee as I couldn’t manage it myself. The history is interesting. Staff were very pleasant and helpful.

As others have commented, the whole place looks dated. It must have been fantastic in the 70s - the place to be, but is now in desperate need of some serious investment to get the rooms and facilities up to scratch. I'm not going to be overly critical as we visitors must be realistic about what we are going to find and be prepared that, for the price we paid, are not getting the Ritz. If you can get over the reality that it's shabby, you'll probably enjoy your break!

Helpful concierge staff and the beds were clean and comfortable. The hotel was well located in Lewis, easy to find with plenty of parking. Driving to Brighton was very straightforward and its a good place to ex lore the surrounding countryside.

It is a classic traditional hotel, not a new built chain. one needs to adjust the expectation.

The location is excellent, in the middle of the town center. one needs to ascend up the hill a bit from the train station.

The room smelt a bit dusty and like the rest of the hotel, it was tired and in need of a refit. The chairs desperately needed recovering as the material felt/looked rather dirty. No cooked options for breakfast

Friendly and welcoming staff. The room was adequate enough and the bed was large and comfy. The corner bath in the bathroom was good. The pool looked inviting, although I didn't get chance to use it. The location was really good being in the middle of Lewes. Continental breakfast was nice enough.

There is a lovely terrace. It needs a jet wash, some planting and the entrance to car park has a pigeon problem with leaks and pipework exposed. The whole place needs some TLC

I have stayed at the White Hart on many occasions pre lockdown. It is such a great location. I was sad to see how much the facility has been allowed to decline. No bar, no hot breakfast option and a 10pm curfew as they are operating in minimal staff. The team were all helpful but it would be great to see it back to what it was.

The decor is a little tired and could do with updating and the rooms aren’t the cleanest - towels are old and stained and should probably be replaced.

The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the location on the high street only a few minutes walk from the train station is great!

Given wrong type of rooms. Asked for a double and a twin and got two doubles. So my wife had to sleep with my Daugter and I had to sleep with my son. As they are teenagers so its not right for them to be in the same bed.

Advertised as '24 hour reception'. However on arrival we were informed that after 11pm no one would be on reception/available to allow access to the hotel unless previously requested for a specific time. We very luckily arrived following our long drive at 10:45pm, otherwise well would have missed this. We were at a wedding during our stay and thus found it very difficult to predict the time we may arrive back that evening - we were able to arrange someone to be on reception at the required time however there was a lot of pushback against this

Building and room had lots of character, with great central location in Lewes
