It was above the main pub so you could hear muffled music. Unfortunately there you could also hear the front/staff door slam when people were going in and out. It made the whole room shake. Kettle could also do with a descale.

Lovely room (6) with a bath, massive bed and all the amenities needed.

Such a warm and welcoming place! The hosts went above and beyond to make me feel at home, and the room was spotless and cozy. Breakfast was fresh and delicious — a perfect start to the day. This B&B is a real gem, and I can’t wait to come back!

There was nothing we didn’t like about the property.

The White Horse was a beautiful olde coach pub that really catches your eye as soon as you pull up. The interior feels like you’ve stepped back in time. The ambiance it gives off just instantly relaxes you. Gordon the owner felt like a lifelong friend after the first evening. My husband didn’t even know he was the owner until I told him the next day after we had been chatting to him the evening before in the very well stocked/ reasonably priced bar. Gemma the manager was the most professional host that we have ever come across. Nothing was ever too much trouble. She went above and beyond even bringing me breakfast in bed on the morning I was feeling poorly so I didn’t miss out. Which brings me to the food. Breakfast 10/10 lunch 10/10 evening meals 20/10 had the most delicious steak dinner. I’m just glad no one could hear me say mmmmmm after every mouthful. The Sunday dinner was nothing more than perfect. The bedroom we stayed in was luxurious, the bedding I wanted to take home. Hungarian goose down quilt need I say anymore. All in all this was the best place we have ever stayed and we were made to feel like royalty, it was just the break we so desperately needed. Unbeknownst to the hosts we had had an unbelievably hard 12 months and this was a little getaway to be able to reconnect as a couple and just be us again. This will definitely be our go to place in the future. We are already booked in for next year.

Breakfast was excellent - freshly made dishes to choose from a menu every morning with tea/coffee. Everyone was absolutely nice so we had a truly delightful stay. The place was newly renovated and is very cozy and lovingly furnished. When we arrived in the evening and the weather was not that great we could warm ourselves by the fireplace. Our room was spacious, we had the window to the street but it was not loud. Parking available. We stayed there to visit Canterbury but also made a trip to the outlet center in Ashford and to Whitstable (also highly recommended!). We will definitely come again.

Few cobwebs on ceiling in room and blinds didn’t block out light fully….but did sleep well. Minor points.

Great place to stay en route to the Kent coast, Dover or Eurotunnel. Old inn, tastefully refurbed serving great beer, wine and food. Dog friendly. Great breakfast included. Nice local walks to village greens, other local pubs and through orchards. Recommended.

The accomodation, the food and the friendlyness of the people are outstanding. The White Horse is located perfectly an only 30 minutes drive from Dover. Our dog was also very warmly welcomed and we could take him with us even to the restaurant. The rooms are very clean, the beds very comfortable and the showers and bathrooms perfectly equipped. We will certainly come back when we travel again through the south of England!

    Absolutely nothing.

What a charming little hotel this is. The property is clearly an old, historic building, in fantastic shape that has benefited from some lovely decor by its owners throughout. The room was well decorated, very clean and the bed very comfortable. The bathroom was beautiful and even had a roll-top bath with shower overhead. A lovely touch. Talking of lovely touches, the bathroom had 2 really high quality bath robes for us, which goes above and beyond. Well done on that. We decided to eat our dinner in the downstairs bar/restaurant and I’m so glad that we did. The food was, fresh, home cooked and lovely. My wife had the sweet potato curry and I had the vegetarian burger. My wife loved her curry and the vegetable burger was the nicest I’ve ever had - the wealth of ingredients and the size of the portions made it extra special. Breakfast the next morning, again, was fantastic. A cooked breakfast with coffee and orange juice. Even the toast was sourdough bread! Everything about this hotel was amazing and I could not recommend it highly enough. Thank you!

Lovely old public house and hotel. Full of English country character. Rebecca and all the staff were welcoming and helpful. The breakfasts were delicious - varied choices on the menu (portions a bit too generous!). Rebecca went the extra mile to help visitors who were touring on through the country with advice with the best routes for onward journeys. The bedroom was spacious and attractive but low doorways a bit of a hazard for tall people! Super bathroom en suite, if a bit neat to climb in and out of the overbath shower. Perhaps a walk in shower would suffice? Hope I have an opportunity to return soon.
