Nothing. We really enjoyed our stay.

Very friendly hosts who were great fun and made everyone feel special. The breakfasts were prepared to suit each individual's preferences. A fresh flask of milk was left in our room each day. The room was very comfortable, quiet, and had a great view. We were able to reserve off-road parking very nearby, which can be difficult to get in a popular location like Whitby. The Willows is only a couple of hundred yards from the harbour. It is in a great location, and we would stay there again when we next visit Whitby.

Amazing breakfast .... had to quiz Martin how he cooked the mushrooms they were so tasty!!! The home made jams were heavenly too.

Whitby travellers need to know that it is quite hilly. There are slopes and steps everywhere, including steps up to the guest house, although not an excessive amount. People with mobility problems need to look very carefully at where they stay. For able-bodied people, there's no problem at all.

Great location - very close to the shops, harbour and a pretty park which is opposite the guest house. The beds were comfortable and the room was lovely. The proprietors were very friendly and provided delicious breakfasts!

two steps down into the bathroom a bit hard for my elderly mother, worth checking room details like this, although it did not impede our visit.

Many extra touches not always associated with a small guest house, two varieties of home made jam every morning, different every day. Not the usual pre-wrapped butter pate's but cubes of butter in crystal dishes, toiletries in the bathroom, lift to all floors.

From the moment, I made contact with Debbie over the phone it seemed that a warm welcome and service were going to be highlight of our stay. We were not to be disappointed. Debbie came to our aid as we parked outside and assisted with us with our baggage and delivered us to our room. Upon hearing that my wife suffers from coeliac disease, Debbie began a detailed review of what could be offered for breakfast. Ultimately, Debbie decided to deploy the resources of her husband to track down some gluten free products to ensure my wife could enjoy breakfast. We also received excellent advice on local restaurants including what could be the better places that offer gluten free meals. In the early evening we met Martin, Debbie's husband. It was becoming clear why The Willows is able to set a very high standard. Martin is equally warm and eager to assist with any problem or issue. He too can offer excellent advice as we chatted about a few of the local places of interest. Being ex RAF, you get the positive impression that nothing is really a problem and there is always a solution at hand to every need. Breakfast, a hearty English breakfast was presented including homemade jams presented alongside fruits and cereals. Martin acting as wait staff brought an ease and charm to the breakfast room with his pleasant conversation. Whilst at breakfast, we began to learn that we were amongst a number of repeat visitors who have been calling upon The Willows for several years. It is the type of place that can seem more like a club that warmly welcomes new members. The Willows is located conveniently within Whitby and it a short walk to the centre of town. So access to restaurants and other facilities was effortless. The North Yorkshire Moors Railway, an outstanding attraction for the area provides services to the local station in the heart of Whitby. We were off for the day and at days end we returned to well serviced room and a welcome back from Martin and Debbie.

Breakfast has to be ordered the day before and although my husband pre ordered kippers for the following day he was told that they couldn't get any, we were in whitby it was full of fishmongers! The whole place is tired and worn looking. The en suite bathroom to our room wasn't very clean. The cord light switch was black with dirt.
