Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe rooms were tiny with little to no room to get ready, the window backed onto the staircase so was noisy with people trying to get to their rooms etc.
The location was fantastic, it was right outside of the theatre for us to watch Harry Potter and the cursed child.

United KingdomThe rooms are small, it was fine for me and my daughter as we were only staying one night, it has everything you need, just compact and not much floor space but the location more than makes up for this
The location of this hotel is fabulous, the staff were very helpful, was able to leave luggage with them before and after check in

CanadaThe size of the room for a couple was extremely tight (at best). We experienced sewage like smells coming from the overhead AC system, on night one, which awoke us a few times. It was mentioned in the morning and night two was better. Nonetheless, it was alarming and very uncomfortable that first night. Just an fyi - when we departed we asked the front desk to call a cab for us. They said that was not something they could not do, which I found to be very odd. Overall for the two night stay we paid 295 UK stirling (yes, I realize it was Central London) seemed to a tad overpriced for what the experience was and if compared to other places on our Euro and UK tour, this was a bit of a letdown.
We enjoyed the Soho (Moor St) location and it's proximity to things. We booked two nights (and not Z members) and were denied a 'free breakfast'. We did receive a second night only stay offer of a glass of wine & cheese, which was nice. Staff were helpful and friendly, although I wouldn't necessarily say knowledgeable when it came to nearby Soho venues, locations info etc. They relied on google, however they did print off a couple things for us to navigate our way, which was helpful.

SwitzerlandSince it’s built into an old building, our room was a little tricky to access. Luckily we don’t have any mobility issues, but something to keep in mind if you do book a room here. There did seem to be accessible rooms but something to keep in mind when booking.
Great room. Friendly staff. In the center of soho but didn’t hear any noise from the bustling crowds. Like a small sanctuary among the chaos.

CanadaPlease note: this is a very cozy room for two people. Was *not* a detractor for our stay, but we didn't need a lot of space. Everything is squeezed very closely together. Also, our window did look right out onto a busy-ish pedestrian traffic area; not bad for noise, and cool to see, just note that the bed is pressed right up against the window so have some pants on when you look out.
Cozy two-night stay in SOHO London. Perfect location - a very short walk from the Sondheim Theatre (and many others). Great access to food, tube stations, attractions. Inner courtyard is very cool and a spiral staircase leads up to the roof where an interesting view of London rooftops can be had. Very fun for couples travelling. Suited our needs perfectly. Also, the staff were very helpful and were able to hold our bags for a time after check-out, allowing us to explore London a bit more before catching a train.

LithuaniaThe doors to the room are not soundproof, so it was quite noisy when someone was entering/leaving the area outside the door.
My room without a window was surprisingly lovely - the air conditioner had a fan function, so it felt like a breeze from outside. Bed was very comfortable, so was the shower. Several towels including body wash-shampoo were provided. Clean and cozy. Multiple power outlets in the room.A mini fridge would've been awesome as well, but definitely not a necessity! The location is perfect - stores, cafes, pubs, restaurants and a bus stop are reachable by hand; the subway is minutes away. There's a Tesco nearby as well!!
