Dinner menu a little sparse on choice and quite expensive.

Bed was small standard double, used to bigger in hotels these days. Breakfast was mediocre, never did get the toast I asked for first day. Told room was on first floor, then had to climb another set to access room.

Location was good parking good and free. Food was ok small menue.

Our room 45 is next to the upstairs lounge where there was a noisy group on Friday in that room until after 3 am!!

Location is good but we knew that having stayed at the hotel before and we have lived in the area. A lift would have helped my wife who temporarily has mobility problems.

Olde worlde charming characterful historic property in the centre of Woodstock.
    • Leisure trip
    • Family with young children
    • Standard King Room
    • Stayed 1 night

no blinds or net curtains at our windows, so smokers in the courtyard and passers by, who use the hotel courtyard as a short cut, could see straight into our room. The all inclusive breakfast offering was a bit basic - too many items on the menu were at a supplement The courtyard room meant that we had to make a mad dash in the rain to the main hotel for breakfast the bathroom was a bit dated

Warm and welcoming staff Fab central location characterful historic property our room was elegant and smelled of spa!! good value for money

I had a lovely courtyard (ground floor) room - but very disappointed to find that staff parked directly outside my window; noisy arrivals & departures. Plenty of space for staff to park away from guest room windows.

Perfect location; lovely comfy bedding; most staff very good; easy parking; unique rooms.

Our TV didn’t work properly due to a faulty aerial cable and the WiFi wasn’t great. But the room was fab and this is just a minor gripe.

Incredible location in the heart of picturesque Woodstock on the edge of the Cotswolds with Blenheim Palace on your doorstep. We got upgraded on arrival as our room wasn’t ready and the staff were brilliant.

Room was noisy due hot water tank/piping which was noisy all night. Supplement of £6 on anything other than a full English breakfast and yet breakfast was “included”. And expected to pay £4 for a cappuccino at breakfast, a real disappointment for a four star hotel,

    Staff were courteous and attentive

The hotel should not confuse potato scones (which were on the menu) with hash browns (which were what was served up). Being a Scot, I found that quite disappointing although the breakfast was still good.

Nice large room with a comfortable king size bed. Really good breakfast. Good location near Blenheim Palace.

Would use again because of location but probably only bed and breakfast. Not sure if the food was cook/chill.

Very old, quite quirky. Wouldn’t recommend for anyone with mobility issues. Quite a few stairs but there are rooms on ground floor. The staff are all lovely, friendly and helpful. Not the best food we’ve ever had and some items on menu weren’t available. Were told they had run out but as it was fresh catch of day and monkfish two days running I just think they never had it. Very disappointed with the Caesar salad.

Fantastic location, sadly just let down by a dismissive receptionist who wasn't very helpful. Couple of cobwebs hanging from the ceiling in our room but otherwise great. Would have been nice to have a robe, especially when room advertised with them.

The dining experience was a little old fashioned. Not much atmosphere. The coffee at breakfast was very weak and cold both days. The toast came to late to eat with breakfast. And bedroom too hot no thermostat. And no drinks in fridge only water, no beverages to buy.

The hotel looked historic and good location.

    Everything was fine.

Location was perfect - a very atmospheric location right in the heart of Woodstock. The entrance to Blenheim palace is almost literally on your doorstep! Very friendly staff. I had the impression of a happy and engaged team who took an interest in the welfare of their guests. Breakfast was exceptional - hot and fresh and delivered quickly direct to the table - couldn't have asked for more.
