How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Room was noisy. Noise from the bar area past midnight and then at 4:55 am with people leaving. Water pressure is weak.
Very convenient for Gatwick Airport and the Bells Pub, excellent food.

My room was on the ground floor near reception so it was a bit noisy until they closed for the night. The room was such good value for money though.
Staff were exceptionally friendly and the whole atmosphere was so welcoming. The minibus service is fantastic; the room and the en-suite were spotless.

All staff very friendly and welcoming. Bed comfy. Lasagne lovely. I walked to the Airport in the morning, as I like the fresh air. Just had a rucksack. Be aware takes about 40 minutes.

That we were put in an annex down the road, a personal hate for me + the room was so very small , okay for 1 person!!

Asked for an alarm call at 5.30am got one at 5.45am - was going on 6am bus, luckily my own alarm woke me up at 5.30am. Room located across the main road in a house not the main hotel building.
Great location close to Gatwick Airport. Very clean and comfortable room. Airport shuttle £12 each way. Great price.

The hotel had its own mini bus. Transport was provided to the airport. I had a heavy bag so to have someone to help me get my luggage on and off the bus was very helpful. The evening meal of steak was very good.

Dinner service could've been a bit better. Took way too long for the food to come out and there was just us (2 people) and another 2 person table there. The waitress didn't offer us a drink at all either, only wrote down our food and walked away.
Shuttle to the airport was handy. The room was clean and tidy and we were in a little house just across the road from the main building. Helpful staff at the desk.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean and well-equipped suite, minutes away from both Gatwick Terminals...easily accessible by transit bus (2£). Full restaurant facilities on the premises...lots of restaurants within walking distance.

The hotel offered exactly what we were looking for, 2 comfortable and reasonably priced rooms for an overnight, a great breakfast and then 10 minute minibus shuttle to the airport in the morning, holiday parking (at extra cost) and shuttle back on our return. The staff were super friendly and helpful and you can opt to eat an evening meal there if you wish (we chose to go into Horley and eat out there instead). The whole process was smooth, friendly and efficient.

Could've done with an extra pillow

The only downside is the need to cross the road to have breakfast as the hotel is spread over two buildings.
A short driving distance from Gatwick in a residential location, the hotel is comfortable, very clean and well maintained with a very good breakfast. Excellent shower and comfortable beds.

Rooms are very small so if you’re from North America this is challenging.

Room a bit small and basic. Not much to do in the area around the hotel, we get there earlier than expected and so hanging around till bed time.
Easy to find and quick to get to and from the airport. Nice evening meal on arrival. Staff were all very friendly. We left the car with them while we were away which was nice and simple, no drama.
