Our room on the first night was a “double “ but was so tiny we could barely sleep- they did move us without fuss for the next night so was appreciative of that Breakfast was not great with no staff and a lot of diy We paid something like £280 a night through booking.com and felt very ripped off, was really not value for money

Great views and looks like it might have been grand in its heyday 40 years ago or so.. but now a lot of it looks tired.. but views are still great!

The facilities were disappointing with a very small pool and gym facilities. The bed was extremely uncomfortable, and so the pillows. They also provided feather cushions, which I warned in advance that I am allergic to. The bar prices were very expensive when there's no justification for it.

Surprised there was only one lift although it worked all the time we were there.

The indoor pool was a bit too small for properly swimming in but a bit cold for just relaxing in and the hot tub was out of action. However we were there with small children and they loved the pool.

The amazing views are what make the place really special. The staff were all really friendly and helpful too.

No drawers in room for underwear and socks etc, so they had to stay in the cases.

The initial reception we had on arrival almost put us off! There was quite an unfriendly person at the desk who was most unwelcoming.. that’s the only negative…..also no one to help us with our cases.

Hotel has now passed its glory days in terms of being a flag ship hotel, but the room rates are a little high. Bar prices are somewhat high which was some what disappointing and external paintwork in poor condition, the bathrooms although perfectly adequate are a little antiquated which we believe could be because the hotel maybe being sold in the near future.

The location is stunning, we booked sea view, with balcony which is the best rooms to have at this location. Room & bed both large & comfortable. Easy access to Swanage, Bournemouth & Poole. The food at the hotel is excellent if a little limited

Sandy carpets everywhere! Reception staff on the evening shift, VERY young and unprofessional. Spent most of the evening speaking to a boy who had clearly come in to visit them…

Security gates, having to type in numbers. Specially the beach gate very heavy and awkward…a card swipe system would be a lot easier. Pool gate was locked at times so had to walk through restaurant area to gain access from beach back to spa

A little tired in communal areas. The bar was lacking in any atmosphere and was too brightly lit. Some subtle lighting would improve it dramatically.

It’s fair to say that the hotel is a bit tired these days and with fewer staff results in a self service climate. What staff who remain are very good and attentive but are unsure themselves about their future

Looking at the roof of the swimming pool was a little off putting.

I thought the bathroom was a little small for a room described as a delux double.
