Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

FranceMy room was on an upper floor of the Coach House. The absence of an elevator meant that negotiating several flights of stairs and associated corridors was difficult with heavy luggage. It was disappointing to see that a storage cupboard was partially open, although it was marked to be kept locked shut for fire protection purposes. Similarly, it's not good practice to prop self-closing fire resisting doors open to make it easier to clean the corridors.
My well-appointed room was excellent, as were dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. Staff were pleasant, courteous and helpful. The fact that I was able to park my car in the hotel car park was a bonus.

United KingdomAs above
Very comfortable room, but the mirror light in the bathroom and therefore the bathroom extractor did not function, which was disappointing in a hotel of this type, where we were told that an engineer checked the rooms every day - (except ours apparently!)

United KingdomA minor point, the bar could have been furnished more sympathetic to the age of the building, it lacked atmosphere.
Good choice on breakfast menu, not a buffet. Centrally located hotel in Wells town with parking.

United Kingdombar service a little slow but it was busy.... .....and the car park is a little tight.
The staff were so very helpful and welcoming. I had a really comfortable quiet room with everything I needed - a really comfortable bed, excellent coffee machine, water, nice bathroom products and a bath, even an ironing board and iron. The room was nicely furnished with good storage and closet. The best bit - the lights, sockets and switches as well as the mirrors were all in sensible places.

United KingdomLimited options for dinner on the one night we ate in and similarly breakfast was missing a few options. There are far better eateries in Wells than using the hotel. Entrance to the parking is very narrow so care needs to be taken when driving in or out Lots of street noise - manageable for us as we always travel with ear plugs.
Offered room upgrade which was appreciated. Free parking was convenient as a city centre location. Staff generally helpful.

United KingdomUnfortunately lace curtains in our room were torn, and the pillows need replacing very lumpy. As for aesthetics, grey gaffa tape on the dining room floor let it down. Car parked in the alley needs to be either moved or parks closer to the entrance gates, for ease of access for larger cars.
Staff polite and helpful. Food and service was excellent

United KingdomEn-suite shower, water temperature difficult to control; water was lukewarm. Was told I needed to wait 10 minutes for hot water to come through before I entered the shower.
Nice setting; busy period everyone descending at 9-9:30 meant for slow in attentive service. Young staff worked very hard in order to cope.

United KingdomThe only thing that was wrong with the accommodation was that the fan in the bathroom was stuck on all the time which made it difficult to sleep because of the noise. The staff were unable to fix it but were going to get a maintenance man in the next day.

United KingdomBed was rather hard with pillows completely the opposite, much too soft! For any privacy at all, needed curtains to be closed due to position of the room! Loud noise above room 5 as if people were partying and jumping around, even though we don’t believe they were.
Lovely old largish building in centre of Wells, rambling with some strange room positions. Very convenient central location. Good sized, comfortable room. Parking can be difficult but at least they do have a good-sized car park considering it's city-centre location.
