Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe cleanliness was OK, though not top notch; it was tricky to make the room look fresh due to the very tired decor and scuffed furniture, but the bed was fine and very comfortable. The main issue was the closure of the restaurant in the evening - at check in we had been assured that it would be open until 9pm, but when we went for a meal at 7.30pm we were told it was closed, so we had to search Poole on a Sunday evening for a place to eat.
The hotel is in an excellent location and our first floor room had a great view of Poole Harbour. The facilities within the bedroom and en suite bathroom were fine; it was well laid out and provided all we required. The bed linen and towels were clean and good quality. Since I have some mobility issues I appreciated the lift to all floors. Car parking at the rear of the hotel is a public one, but payment could be made at reception at a cost of £7 per night.

United KingdomThe room smelt a little when we got in it, like a dog or pet had stayed in there. Nothing major but we did need to open the window to air it out.
It was in a great location and the staff were lovely!

FranceLots of limescale in the shower head. Takes a while to get hot water. You could feel the springs in the mattress. The mirror on the bathroom door was old and damaged. No toilet brush.
Very good location right on the harbour. Big room. Quiet.

United KingdomThe hotel has obviously been painted recently and some of the finish needed a little more attention but other than that we were pleased with our stay because what we received was reflected in the price.
The location is great and really close to a great choice of bars and restaurants. The room was basic but immaculately clean and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. Great view of the harbour and marina from our room. We didn't have breakfast but did have a drink in the bar the evening before which was comfortable and quiet. Overall a great stay and would definitely return.

United KingdomWe were charged an extra £30/night to book “a pet friendly room”. It was not pet friendly! It was just a standard room with poorly sealed and very drafty windows. When I asked the Receptionist what made it “pet friendly” she could not tell me! I explained that in other places we’d stayed pet bowls and blankets or beds had been in the room to justify the extra charge. I asked to speak to the Manager - but she wasn’t available. So, at 10:45 this morning I asked the Receptionist to ask the Manager to email me it’s now 21:15 and there has been either email, text, or phone call. This is disappointing. Effectively we paid £90 for nothing. Not happy! And even less happy that no response has been made. The poorly sealed drafty windows were shown to the Housekeeper - who apologised that the room was cold, the radiator & towel rail had been turned off so we couldn’t put them on, and she couldn’t provide my requested portable heater. A third problem was inadequate provision on the hospitality tray, etc. 8 teabags, 8 mini milk pots. Two milk pots were needed/cup of tea so I had to ask for more three times in our three day stay. One mini shower fell & conditioner was there at the onset. I phoned Reception on day two to ask for more - but never received them.
The location was excellent; front line overlooking the Marina. Had we been on the other side of the corridor (overlooking the car park), I would not have been happy. All the staff were great. Friendly, polite, and helpful.

United KingdomBar was a little bit unorganised, however there was a function using the facility. No bar staff on hand when returned from a nearby restaurant at 22.30.
Great hotel, in a superb location overlooking the harbour, close to pubs, restaurants and town centre. Convenient on site parking (chargeable) a bonus. Breakfast was good, help yourself buffet type, all tastes catered for.

United KingdomThe building is looking rather 'tired' and in need of a fair bit of refurbishment/re-decoration . Our first morning was cold in the restaurant as the heating had gone off and no-one knew how to turn it back on!! Lets hope that the staff would have known how to follow fire safety procedures etc. should the need have arisen. Not knowing how to turn the heating back on seems somewhat unsatisfactory.
Great location on the quay overlooking the bay. The staff were all very welcoming.
