Not much really. The only thing I didn't like was the taps for the bath and shower are a little confusing in the room. Otherwise all good.

Modern, spacious, comfortable room with all the functionality and facilities you could want. Excellent mini kitchen and pleasant bathroom. The pool and gym were the highlight. Peloton bikes, a small weights area and a new pool that felt super luxurious in the middle of Bethnal Green.

Didn't like that the service charge for the cleaning staff is voluntary and shoved under the door the day you leave. I would rather this is included in the price and it is not additional.

The kitchen lacked some of the basic items , like a tea towel and frying pan , had to ask for a toaster which was supplied immediately and the kettle didn’t work for our stay , we were too busy to say so left that , the fridge didn’t close too well , seemed like some tlc needed , no instructions with the microwave to use as an oven , had to get maintenance out to fix phone but all sorted quickly , the room we had was right by the bar so that was really noisy with people late at night and we thought for having a child we would have been better placed somewhere quieter , the courtyard we were looking over was noisy with a wrestling match setting up well Into the evening and morning and that was disturbing but not hotels fault but was just a busy location , these things weren’t the worst just added up

Lovely self contained suite which was perfectly set up for the three of us with a 5 year old , nice living area and separate bedroom , spacious and clean , cleaned daily which was lovely and self contained kitchen for a short break away , staff were so helpful and attentive

Had to wait a little while to get checked into the room as they did not have our booking, but to be fair to them they dealt with it in a calm way and made us not worry about the mix up, it was sorted and compensated with a room upgrade so I can't complain.

Welcoming staff that upgraded the bedroom after they had trouble integrating our booking from booking.com onto their website. Ladies were friendly and recommended places to go eat before we went to the event we booked.

Little touches by the staff team let the experience down for me: persistent knocking at the door through the afternoon to see if room had been cleaned (surely they should know?); very slow and disorganised check in experience (7 staff behind the desks, but only two serving, very chaotically); then the kicker: an invoice put under my door at 530am on day of departure with several hidden costs! I asked the staff what these were and nobody could explain beyond “They are discretionary charges, you don’t have to pay”. Turns out the hotel charges EVERY GUEST an extra £10-£15 PER NIGHT without forewarning or explanation, on an unclear invoice - which DOESN’T say they are optional…I wonder how much money the hotel is making from guests who don’t notice/don’t feel confident to challenge these charges? A really under hand and sneaky approach that ultimately soured my experience.

Beautiful hotel and room, efferent location, great breakfast, really nice facilities.

Pool was too shallow and cold but nevertheless still nice and relaxing first thing. A little cramped once one or two families shared at the same time, same as the gym although the quality of facility was great. PELATON and matrix great bits of kit although another guest struggled to connect her Bluetooth headphones, I did it fine so no problem for me. Lack of jacuzzi, sauna and steam room always a shame. No real changing room either, more like an glorified ensuite. Didn't like the automatic £10 per day service charge, would've rather have chosen to do this myself. Didn't use restaurant so I cannot comment on that. Room had dystopian/homeless vibe artwork which I didn't find appealing at all and didn't match the rest of the hotels feel. Couldn't figure the bath tap out so stuck to showers which was fine.

Loved the size of the room and bathroom. bed was great and pillows ultra comfy. Overall Location was perfect for my needs. Gym and pool very clean and the pool attendant was such a friendly guy, welcoming me every morning as I turned up for a swim. WiFi is absolutely fine, easy quick connection.

be mindful that the hotel is not situated in shoreditch town hall, the latter which is a building of similar aesthetics though situated more centrally in east london. spotting a 5% discretionary service charge on the check-out invoice feels a bit inappropriate.

The built in fridge wasn't securely screwed which is a quick fix and a couple of plug sockets didn't work. Didn't affect our stay in anyway shape or form.

Lovely spacious apartment with modern decor. Incredibly comfortable bed and great kitchen facilities for those who wish to cook. Very quiet apartment. The only noise was when main bins were emptied outside. All staff welcoming and polite.

My only comment was that I’d said upon booking that it was my partner’s 30th birthday, and asked if there was anything special that could be done to make it extra memorable for him. They offered flowers for £50 (!!?) which I said he probably wouldn’t appreciate and then didn’t hear back when I asked for alternatives. I just think when you’re paying this much for a hotel room and you’ve made it obvious it’s a special occasion, some effort could have been made there. They could have at least wished him a happy birthday when checking in. Even a little note in the room to acknowledge the occasion would have been enough. Again, not a huge issue, I’m sure I could have pushed more once we’d checked in, but it’s the little things we remember.

The facilities are beautiful. We absolutely loved the pool and the gym is really well kitted out. All feels super clean and fresh. The bath in our room was also a real bonus! Staff on reception were really friendly.

Touch ups in the room from wear and tear could get some attention is a small constructive bit of criticism. What I didn’t love was the surprise service charge bill under the door in the morning despite paying for everything up front. Wasn’t mentioned anywhere and no indication to what it was for. Put a bit of a sour taste to what was a great two nights. Adds to a question of whether I’d stay again out of principle.

Location is good, building has a nice old charm to it, room was spacious and quiet, staff were pleasant. One of the better value for money hotels I’ve stayed in in London.

Towels don‘t need to be changed every day. Hotel should let guests decide whether they want new towels or not. Washing all these (more or less) clean towels is just a waste of energy.

Great staff, atmospheric hotel, large rooms, good value for London, will go back.

In our room (no24) the mattress needs replacing, it sinks into the middle we used the spare pillows to stop us falling into the centre of the bed, we slept well simply because we were so tired from walking around London all day. Also our shower does not drain properly and tends to flood the bathroom (we had to use towels to stop it completely flooding the bathroom area - if you have a long shower then I think it would escape into the bedroom - I checked the drain and it was not blocked and was perfectly clean, so not sure what the problem is here. The hotel could make it clearer about adding a service charge to bill on check out - I spoke to staff and they said that all staff get paid the service charge - so this was fine with me because all the staff we interacted with during our stay were magnificent and a real credit to the hotel. On the Saturday night that we stayed they had an event and so the music was loud until midnight, this did not bother us but it might if you want an early night and you have small children who go to bed early. I have stayed in other London hotels where they say when they are having events/parties so you can choose whether this is a good time to stay or not.

The hotel rooms are very large and well equipped - all the staff are really helpful and friendly, the location might not suit everybody but we really like it, the tube is a ten minute walk for the central line. There are some good multi cultural restaurants and shops nearby. I have been using this hotel since it opened over ten years ago and generally have always found it a great place to stay and a reasonable cost compared with other London hotels. It is very good if you come like I did with five members and three generations of the same family (from 14 months to 70 years!) - we booked two rooms but I have booked a two bedroomed room/flat which works well. We didn't use the swimming pool this time but that is a great thing to have. The best thing we found is the staff who have all gone out of their way to be helpful and polite which has been a god send when we have made special requests for a baby and small children.
